Dr. Robert Penna's roots in the Wilmington community began with his days at Archmere Academy. He is a proud graduate of the Class of 1985. Dr. Penna attended the University of Notre Dame, graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree, before attending the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine degree. After completing a general practice residency in dentistry at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh, he went on to earn his Certificate in Orthodontics from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He has been creating generations of beautiful smiles since 1996. In addition to his private practice, Dr. Penna serves as a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Orthodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. He is also a published author in the American Journal of Orthodontic and Dentofacial Orthopedics. He strives to stay on the cutting-edge of the latest advancements in his field of specialty by keeping memberships with such professional organizations as: * American Dental Association * American Association of Orthodontists * Delaware State Dental Society * Delaware Society of Orthodontists (President) * Middle Atlantic Society of Orthodontists (MASO) To give back to the community, Dr. Penna is a member of the Cleft Palate Team at the Alfred I. DuPont Hospital for Children. He serves as director for MASO, board member for the Kids with Confidence Charity and co-founder of the New Castle Dental Study Club. Dr. Penna is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, and his local parish is St. Joseph on the Brandywine Roman Catholic Church. During his leisure time, Dr. Penna enjoys spending time with his family, running and watching Notre Dame football!
