Do not take your wedding dress here! My experience was a complete nightmare. My 1st fitting was done by a very sweet woman that assured me the dress would look great with the alterations. When it came time for me to pick the dress up (2 weeks before my wedding), I called first. Lena told me that the woman that had done the alterations was on vacation and if I wanted to pick it up it would be in “as is” condition since no one else knew what had or had not been done to it. She had no idea when this woman would be back - she still was not back when I went to pick the dress up 2 days before my wedding. The only thing that had been done was the length adjustment - the breast area was still ready for Dolly Pardon, I wear an A cup. The waist was suppose to have been let out and they had taken it in. The long and short of it, the dress was not ready and would not have been wearable. Thankfully, I had another option. At that point I didn’t have time to be running back and forth to their shop for fitting after fitting because all of a sudden they had a sense of urgency 2 days before my wedding. I had family in town, people staying at our house, rehearsal dinner, etc. I picked the dress up AFTER our wedding and tried it on at home. It still was not right, my wedding would have been ruined. I canceled payment on my check the following Monday and mailed Lena a detailed letter explaining the reason why I had. Now we are going to small claims court. Stay away from this place, it’s an unorganized mess, Lena is rude, and they have no system in place for keeping track of who has done what to what. I’m still stuck with a dress that has been altered and therefore is not returnable, a dress I could not wear. That’s $1400 of my hard earned money, Lena.
I brought my wedding dress here to have some alterations done and they completely destroyed the dress. The bottom hem was not even, the sides were not only taken in incorrectly but were uneven and crooked. The cups were put in incorrectly and they did a cobjob with the shortening the straps. They also made it clear they don't know how to work with certain fabrics as my satin dress had no less then 20 snags and pulls in it after picking it up, that were not there before. (Which cannot be fixed) When I picked it up they thought the dress looked great and said it was perfect. I had exactly a week to find a different tailor to try n fix what they could before I walked down the aisle. Please do NOT bring your garments here. They are overpriced, and are not professional tailors who destroy your clothes rather then fixing them.
Would not recommend this place. As I was walking in with my mother-of-the-bride dress, I fell on their cracked sidewalk. Came in bleeding and the owner could have cared less. After my dress was pinned, (even though I asked for an estimate beforehand but was told she "didn't know what was involved yet") I was quoted way too much for the work required ($150.00 for hemming and a very minor strap adjustment). However because of the time crunch and since the pinning was already done, I was stuck. Owner also told me that the bridal salon ordered me the wrong size but she kept pulling the waist up higher than where it was supposed to be. When I came to pick up the dress, I was ignored at the counter for 15 minutes while the owner discussed other orders with me standing there. Also dress was too long in the back even though I had it pinned with the shoes I was wearing. Only shining spot was some of the other workers who stopped sewing to come over and zip me up because Lena never bothered to come back. Also one employee was a former fitter at the bridal salon where I purchased the dress. She said it was DEFINITELY the correct size. Would not go back - better, places in the area I'm sure.
I would recommend Lena's. They're the best in town especially if you've waited to the last minute to get that alteration you need. They're sensible, reasonable, and Lena is nice. I don't know why people complain about them being unfriendly. They are very busy!
