I've seen a couple of negative reviews here and believe they must be confusing which restaurant they went to with Sal's. Sal's by Victor located behind Books-A-Million on Richmond Road is quite simply the best Italian restaurant in Hampton Roads. I had not tried it until I began to work at a nearby shop, but this place is both affordable and delicious. For example, for only $5.99 you can have a good sized bowl of homemade soup - flavors change daily - and a "half" sandwich which is at least 8 inches long. They pile on the meat and toppings - the cheesesteak often has to be eaten with a fork! During lunch they keep things casual and inexpensive; at night, they offer more expensive fair with cloth napkins, but also keep the sandwich/soup/salad specials. They offer sub sandwiches, pizza, pasta, and seafood. There are beautiful Italian landscapes on the wall and comfortable seating for all - including my father-in-law who uses a wheelchair. Sal's has won Williamsburg's Best Restaurant every year since 1999! If you're hungry in Williamsburg and especially if you live on a budget, eat at Sal's!
Fantastic italian meals. Love everything we have ordered. Chef owned restaurant so meals are made with love and care..Delicious ! Service is alwa…
In town for few weeks, we stopped to a real Italian restaurant after searching quite a bit through the local area. Giuseppe and Maurizio made our night! We were well fed just as genuine Italians do with their guests. The service was impeccable and the food tasted just like in Italy; no substitutes, real mozzarella, real olive oil, real peperoncini to name a few. The home-made parmiggiano and garlic bread in itself worth the visit. We'll be back! Thanks a million! Grazie!
The nice thing about chain restaurants is: You know exactly what you're going to get. Willliamsburg Olive Garden is no exception, nothing special here. Same Old Same. But the location beside Yankee Candle is appealing. :) I suggest the salad and soup (all you can eat for one price!). Delicioius and guilt free.
A former resident of Williamsburg and a frequent visitor, I count Sal's as a must-visit restaurant up there with making sure I get a Cheese Shop sandwich. Their pastas are terrific. The pizza is excellent. My favorite is the chicken picatta or marsala. Very family friendly, casual atmosphere - highly recommend.
This is one of our favorite restaurants in Williamsburg. The food is always fresh and delicious and the regular menu is great. Be on the lookout for specials - they are always fantastic. The staff is attentive but doesn't rush us through our meal. Great experience
Absolutely wonderful food, interior, and wait staff. Had the BBQ chicken pizza, delicious. They offer gluten-free options too, which those in our party who ate it enjoyed. Wait staff absolutely wonderful. Highly recommend eating here.
Food is always amazing. The servers are very pleasant and prices are very reasonable. They also deliver! Definitely worth a visit!
Nicolle was our bartender, what welcoming service she gave us. Everything was amazing. Can't wait to return.
Great atmosphere with great service and wonderful food! I would recommend this restaurant to anyone!
Best meal, my wife and I had in a long time. If you ever come to Indy let us know : )
