There really is a lot to choose from, good quality food. The desserts are beautiful and yummy. It can be a bit pricey for a 'buffet', but this isnt the typical 'buffet' food. You will easily spend $30 per person, but you'd spend that if you went to Red Lobster and had all the offerings you'd eat at the buffet. Ya gotta try it!
No cars in the parking lot, so we figured we get served right away.Had to wait several minutes for the hostess to acknowledge us and seat us.Waitress was fantastic, friendly and energetic.Tossed salad was fresh but the portion was small...(they spread it out over the plate to make it look bigger than it was).Food came out of the kitchen fast enough, but it all tasted the same. :(The fried shrimp and clam strips were crunchy (to my liking), the scallops were really small and greasy. For the price we paid, we were expecting something with more flavor or a little more flair. No cars in the parking lot should have been our first clue.
Heard great things about this restaurant but, it is OK to the best. Food is not fresh and selection is limited.
I have been going to Capt Georges for years. The ambiance is awesome. The placement and variety of food is awesome. The quality of the food is so wonderful. The Crab Legs were plentiful, juicy, delicious and come with a special Captains sauce if you like or butter or margarine. There was seafood Norfolk, Seafood Imperial, hush puppies (corn bread), salad, many options of sauteed and fried fish, shrimp, spare ribs... so much more. The desserts were fantastic! They even serve ice cream from the bar as an addition to the buffet. I didn´t try it, but saw some come out, they looked yummy. I had quite an appetite going in and completely satisfied leaving. There was a line forming around the building when I left. There were many employees in the building to make my experience happy. The bathrooms were kept very clean. Great place! The price for the buffet is a tad steep, but I still felt like it was a value b/c of the crab legs and house made desserts... oh! the scallops, yum!
We thoroughly enjoyed dinner here! Food was delicious and the waiters' costumes and accents were great. We enjoyed the peanut soup and chicken pot pies. Our server and the staff went out of their way to keep us entertained.
Always a pleasant experience at O&A. Friendly staff and terrific food. Rotating Beer Tap offers great craft brew selections!
Love, love, love this restaurant...they have all my favorite foods and then some. The decor is lovely, old world charm and elegance, delicious, fresh and plentiful...highly recommend this place to anyone who loves seafood.
Vacation in Williamsburg tonight with my family of five. We thought we would treat ourselves to a nice sit down meal after a long drive. Service at this restaurant was very slow. We actually had to flag down our waiter for our drinks and he claimed that was the bars responsibility. We had been watching the bar knowing that was where our drinks were coming from and lets just say we saw no sense of urgency at the bar. When our meals finally came the portions were very small for the price. I had grilled trout with lemon butter. The butter was on half the trout, tossed on with no care. Delicious, but without a starch on the plate the meal wasn't very filling. My husband and son go the shrimp and scallop meal, and they asked for more bread when the meal was done, as they also felt portion size was inappropriate. I gave the restaurant a three because the food was delicious, but portion size was poor, and service very slow.
Don't get me wrong. The foods is good. From fayetteville,nc on vacation, and decided to try Captain George's. The Problems: NO PRICES, SHOULD HAVE ASKED FIRST. For my wife and I to eat along with 2 sweet teas, our total came to $68.19 before a tip. Total $77.19 for a 30 min dinner. They even charge you for another buffet if you end up staying more than 2 hours there....RIP OFF? YOU TELL ME....MAYBE I'M JUST TOO CHEAP. Sorry E-4s in the Army don't make that kind of money. If we knew the price first, we would have went to McDonalds...
