Automotive Service Excellence
I showed up at 11.15 on a saturday, they close at noon. I had 2 front tractor tires off of a 1951 ford that had never been off, that i needed taking off of the rusty rims. I pulled up and Larry met me in the parking lot asking what he could do to help. I told him what i had hoped to get done and he started on it immediately. took him 30 mins to remove, grind rust off of the inside of rim, and install both tires. As a mechanic myself I noticed that the old tires were seized/rusted to the rims and hole in the rim for the valve stem was rusted away and had jagged edges, Larry ground away any sharp spots and then took a heavy duty patch and cut a hole in it and place the patch over the hole of the rim to provide a smooth area for the valve stem to enter.
Customer service is not lost with Sumter tire and have earned ALL of my future business..
THANK YOU LARRY
Good work but only gave service a tree because who ever took my vehicle for a road test went through every compartment inside I had just detailed and there were greasy finger marks on every latch glove box and the three over head compartments and center compartment also a brand new scratch so not to happy !
These guys are GREAT!!! This morning I had a blowout, my spare tire was shredded I had no jack. I got a ride a friend gave me a tire that was the size I needed, I took my tire to Sumter Auto & Tire the guys switched it over for me for only ten bucks, Started to leave and to my surprise the tire was leaking. I asked Larry if he had any used tires for sale out he said let me see what I can do. This one of a kind gentle soul gave me a tire at no charge!!!!!! This truly brightened up my day. You don't find to many ppl like that these days.
Thank You Larry and all the guys & lady at Sumter Auto & Tire,
Sandi & Rex

These guys have been around a long time,I have been a customer for 15+ years. They have done mechanical work for me,mount/dismount tires...all kinds of stuff.Larry knew my father before he passed 12 years ago and of course greets me too,Larry or someone will come right out front when you pull up to see what you need.Only complaint is they seem to charge, charge, charge!!!Some work can be expensive, like they put rear brakes on my Dodge truck, took the guy 30-45 minutes but they charged me two hours labor + parts( 1 hour it sat on the lift,LUNCH TIME) but I would recommend this shop,it is ""family run""!!
I have found them to be very honest. Their quotes are accurate and my car was always ready when they said it would be. They may not be the lowest in cost, but I never had to take my car back. It was allways done right the first time. It's worth the drive from The Villages.
