Overall
Dec. 31, 2009

My husband and I opted to dine here on New Year's Eve. Usually I do not go out to eat on this night because the service is typically lousy and the wait extra long. I figured this year I would give Horizons a try. I was extremely disappointed and will not be returning to this restaurant.

The service wasn't the problem but the food was. There was a select, overpriced menu, which in itself was a bit strange. My choice was the prime rib, as it was served with a yummy popover. The popover was the reason I ordered the dish. To my surprise, the server brought the rib minus the popover. When I asked about it, I was told "the kitchen ran out." Now our reservation was at 8 p.m., apparently I got the last rib. I don't think the kitchen planned this out very well, considering the number of people still waiting when we left.

Besides the popover incident, I have to say that prime rib was the most disgusting piece of meat I have ever eaten. I knew it would be problematic when I first looked at it, it just didn't look appetizing. I requested medium, the meat was rare to raw in the center. I don't think it was ever heated, just dumped on the plate. The rest of the meal was lukewarm at best. Why a chef would serve food like this I cannot understand.

I was very disappointed with the entire meal and will not be back.
