I had an implant placed by Dr Coughlin. He did a great job. Unfortunately, I don't think he has figured out how to hold the billing service to the same standard as the dental service.

I was mailed a bill after my procedure to collect an additional $600. I had hit my insurance maximum.

The office said they can't control what the insurance pays and that they had disclosed the full cost of the procedure (without insurance). I understand, but not when taken to the extreme.

First, we had already accounted for plan maximums as part of the estimate.
Second, how does a $600 discrepancy occur when only ONE provider can access the plan benefit?

I was offered a payment plan option but was still reponsible for the full discrepancy. I just said no thanks and paid it in full.

I don't see due diligence to ensure estimates are anywhere near accurate. The nail-in-the-coffin is the "policy" that prevents Baystate Dental from doing anything about a bill when they get an estimate wrong.

Excellent dental services, very professional and have a great plan for xrays & cleanings that's not too expensive. They didn't hurt either, which is a huge plus!

Overall

After having had a crown placed, I continued to have pain. I had to have an emergency root canal. I was told before the procedure that it would only be 400 more but after the procedure I was given a bill of 1500 (almost 2x the national average according to the ada at that time). The tooth continued to have mild pain for years. Now after wising up and switching dentist, I find that dr Coughlin punctured one root of the tooth during the root canal....I will have to have a bone graft and an implant due to his sloppy, careless work which will cause me many missed days, severe pain and over $7000.

i was saddened to receive outside referrals AFTER JOINING THEIR CORP DENTAL PLAN that would entitle me to discounts. This agency claims to do ALL THE PROCEDURES that I recd these referrals for that brought me sevl; thousand dollars of dental work w/out discounted rate.

I had two fillings fall out an...

I had two fillings fall out and my jagged tooth was irritating the inside of my mouth. I went there to have the fillings replaced. They insisted on taking xrays, then gave me a spiel about needing a cleaning, and tried to coax me into signing a payment plan to have my teeth cleaned. They charged my insurance co. for the xrays and wouldn't fix the fillings that I went to have fixed. While I was in there a lady was complaining about being overcharged for some work. The place is all about making money.
