Rosewood Centers for Eating Disorders

My daughter has CVS & POTS 1) Pre admission I verified that she had a very limited diet and was on a feeding tube and they said they'd modify her diet - what that means to Rosewood is to remove feeding tube and feed her chili . 2) There is no therapy art, horse, or dog 3) They did disposed of all her mail to me 4) They monitor phone calls and tell them what they are allowed to say 5) Upon finally speaking to my daughter after about a week it became clear they do not work with CVS nor POTS. 6) She told them I was picking her up in 3 days and they threatened her all day every day until I arrived. 7) They called me 3x or more a day threatening me 8) I called our insurance and registered a complaint about the harassment and lies they said that going home would cause insurance not to pay and they would have to transfer her to a hospital by ambulance if she left 9) ) They kept all her meds, so I had to purchase new meds when I got her home 10) They did not give her heart medications

When I arrived at Rosewood Ranch I wasn't convinced I had an eating disorder. I swore it was a medical issue. After all, I had been dealing with this "medical" issue for several years and had seen great doctors and not one of them ever mentioned an eating disorder. The staff at Rosewood helped me identify my eating disorder issues. It finally became clear as day to me...I really did have an eating disorder.



I was very motivated and very emotional during my treatment. I wanted to learn as much as I could because I was eager to get home to my husband and children. But my emotions were all over the place because my husband took drastic measures to get me into treatment. I was amazed at how much I was learning about eating disorders, depression, and traumas from lectures and from my peers. I couldn't believe how much it helped me to share as well as to listen.



I went through all three levels of care in the Rosewood system. The transition at each level was very difficult and I didn't think I could do it. Somehow I found strength and made the adjustments. I learned so many valuable things at each level. The staff at each level was also phenomenal. They were caring yet knew how to push me and when to push me.



I am grateful that Rosewood helped guide me on this new journey I am on. They helped me find strength that I didn't know I had. This strength keeps me going when I do have those moments when I struggle because I know that this too shall pass and I will survive because now I want to.
