This place is absolutely awful. Not only is the customer service atrocious, they are horrible to there employees. I wouldn't recommend anyone buy anything from these snake oil salesmen.
I have called and visited this store a few times in the last month and unfortunately ever single time I felt I was treated rudely and as if I was an inconvenience. My sister and one of my staff members in addition to myself have had the same experience. Too bad really because I run a business where a lot of pool supplies are needed. I will shop elsewhere.
We purchased our hot tub from Ultra Modern because they have the monopoly on the Hot Springs brand in the Wichita area and it's the kind we wanted. It's after the sale that we have had trouble with them. You call them for a service call and tell them what you think the problem is. Two to three weeks later, they come out and assess what it is and charge you for the service call. Three weeks later the part comes in and they charge you again for another service call. You would think they would carry parts on their truck, especially when you tell them what the problem is. We will buy our next Hot Springs spa out of town because I refuse to purchase from them.
We purchased a new j-235 model of Jacuzzi and had a scheduled delivery the following Thursday between 2-6pm. The wrong model of tub a J-425 was delivered on Thursday at 6;25pm after the store had closed. I had to then call our sales rep Sonia Friday morning to let her know of the grievous error. She already knew the wrong model had been delivered, ensured me a delivery would be made that day by 2pm. 2:30 pm on Friday I had to again call U.M.P.P. and speak with another sales agent who told me the delivery team was fully booked and to expect delivery and retrieval of the wrong model by Saturday before noon. It's now 4pm, the wrong tub was just picked up and the correct model was delivered, without a cover. So Monday is the day I will finally be able to set up my hot tub. I have no fence or large obstructions for the delivery team to negotiate so I can only imagine how irate someone in my position would be if they did have the extra stress of a difficult delivery process. I'm only posting this review as a warning to other buyers that the competency and customer service of the u.m.p.p. team (excluding the delivery team) is not even on par with my local Applebee's.
My husband and I purchased our Homecrest patio furniture from Ultra Modern 17 years ago! It was the first furniture to arrive at our new home when we moved in. It still looks fantastic and we have never regretted spending a little extra on it. We have friends that have replaced theirs time after time and eventually spent as much as we did that once! When I am ready to replace it - I will definitely go back to the friendly folks at Ultra Modern and buy some more Homecrest!
