Gynecology
The field of Urogynecology is a subspecialty within Obstetrics and Gynecology and is dedicated to the study and treatment of pelvic floor disorders in women. Urogynecologists have completed medical school and a four-year residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology, or Urology. These doctors become specialists with additional training and experience in the evaluation and treatment of conditions that affect the female pelvic organs, and the muscles and connective tissue that support the organs. Dr. Trang Pham joins Wichita Urology following completion of fellowship in Female Pelvic Medicine and Reconstructive Surgery (Urogynecology) at the University of Oklahoma. She completed her Obstetrics & Gynecology residency in Oklahoma and is a board certified OB/Gyn.
Endometriosis
This includes the use of the da Vinci surgical system to perform laparascopic surgery. Robotic surgery can be used in gynecology to treat fibroids, abnormal periods, endometriosis, ovarian tumors, pelvic prolapse, and female cancers. Using the robotic system, gynecologists can perform hysterectomies, myomectomies, and lymph node biopsies. Robotic surgery is used in urology to remove the prostate gland for cancer, repair or removal of kidneys and repair bladder abnormalities.

Internal Medicine
Dr. Joudi received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut, in Beirut, Lebanon. He completed his internship in internal medicine at St. Louis University, in St. Louis, MO, and completed residencies in urology at the University of Toronto, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, and at the University of Iowa, in Iowa City, Iowa. He completed a fellowship in urologic oncology at the University of Iowa and then joined the Department of Urology there as an assistant professor. Dr. Joudi is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a fellow of Royal College of Surgeons of Canada and board certified by the American Board of Urology. He joined the group in July 2010.
Bladder Cancer
The purpose of this study is to compare event-free survival (EFS) in participants with Bacillus Calmette-Guerin (BCG)-naive high-risk non-muscle invasive bladder cancer (HR-NMIBC), including high-grade papillary Ta, any T1, or carcinoma in situ (CIS), between TAR-200 plus cetrelimab (Group A) and TAR-200 alone (Group C) versus intravesical BCG (Group B). Kidney Stones
When salts and minerals collect in the kidneys for any number of reasons, you may experience kidney stones. Although stones may remain in your kidneys, they may also pass through your urethra and cause significant pain. We have years of experience removing kidney stones and helping patients manage pain.

Urinary Tract Infection
Blood in the urine can be a sign of an underlying disease or it can be something that happens briefly and then goes away. The most serious cause of blood in the urine is cancer, usually cancer of the prostate, bladder or kidney. A very frequent cause of blood in the urine is a urinary tract infection. Finally, occasionally blood in the urine appears once and then goes away and the causes of these episodes are frequently unknown. If you have concerns about blood in your urine you should schedule an appointment to be seen.
Prostate Cancer
The Prostate Specific Antigen screening is a blood test used to identify elevated levels of this naturally occurring enzyme. High levels of this antigen can indicate prostate cancer.

Ultrasound
A procedure used to formulate an image of internal body tissue. It involves the insertion of a sound-wave emitting probe into the rectum (also called an endorectal ultrasound).
MRI
Magnetic resonance imaging; a means of producing cross-sectional images of the body to characterize tissues by the way the electrons in the tissue move in response to a strong magnetic field

If you have a CT or lab work done at our office, you will receive a bill from Wichita Radiological Group for the reading/interpretation of your CT scan. There are also some lab tests that are sent to Quest Diagnostics and biopsies may be sent to Heartland Pathology, so it’s possible you will receive a separate bill for these services.

A form of radiation therapy where radiation is delivered by a machine pointed at the specific area to be radiated. May be referred to as external beam radiation (EBR, XBR) or external beam radiation therapy (EBRT, XBRT).

General Surgery
Dr. Davis received his medical degree from the University Of Nebraska, College of Medicine in Omaha, Nebraska. He completed his internship in General Surgery followed by his residency in Urologic Surgery at Oklahoma University Health Science Center, in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and he is board certified by the American Board of Urology. He joined the group in August 2013.

Laparoscopy
A technique of surgery that utilizes a camera and scope and specialized instruments that allow the surgeon to use small incisions (about half an inch long) to perform surgery that would otherwise require larger incisions. This type of surgery often offers the patients a quicker recovery with less pain than surgery with larger incisions.
