Brought in my Army Service Uniform Coat to have four patches sewn on (Rank x2, Service Stripes and Combat Services Bars). I knew I wasn't going to be the one picking it up, so I asked to pay in advanced. They charged me $15, which I believed was reasonable. This was on Saturday.
Monday morning, I get a phone call saying it would be an extra $15 for the Service Stripes and Combat Services Bars. I found this cost to be an excessive, but agreed to it since I was in a bind and needed my coat for a DA Photo. Later in the day, they called me again and said it would actually be $15 for the stripes and $15 for the bars - $30 total. They also said it was an extra $15 for my ranks - meaning $15 per patch ($60 total).
I told them this was an outrageous charge and I would in no way being paying them and for them to just leave it alone. I had someone pick up my coat that day and I took it to another shop who did the work for $10. The other shop did a great job.
I have been places across the country with the military and have NEVER had anyone try to price gauge me on uniform needs. Completely disrespectful on the phone, trying to blame their lowest level employee and passing blame on me as well for "not understanding their prices". I have an itemized receipt for when I originally dropped it off, it says $15 for 4 patches TOTAL.
I will never give them my business and I am forwarding on the message to all my military friends that they should take their business elsewhere. This includes using the AAFES tailoring shop, which outsources to this unprofessional organization.

I was staying at Marriott on business recently and had my pant hem come undone.Called the concierge downstairs and he recommended Sarahs.
I called them, a very pleasant gentleman answered the phone and sent over their driver.
Pants were picked up, repaired and pressed nicely and bought back to my room within couple of hours.
Excellent service, shows why she is is business for this long in Wichita

I needed my suit adjusted for a funeral (gained some weight) after spending 30 to 40 on the phone trying to find a place who could accommodate my request Alterations by Sarah came through for me. I dropped off the Suit at 9:00 AM they had the suit ready for me 11:30. When I mentioned I am running late since I was on the north side of town, they made it convenient for me by asking me to pick my suit at the 21st & North Rock store by Dillon's. Their delivery person met me in 15 minutes with the suit at the location. Excellent customer service and work on the suit. I used their changing rooms and made it to the funeral on time. Thanks guys you are the best... sorry it took me few days to get around to write this review..

Alterations by Sarah on Rock road & Harry.
I brought a variety of military uniforms to have simple alterations. My rank insignia were not centered and facing the wrong direction. I left the garments to be corrected and for a second time my uniforms were not altered within military regs. I was assured after the first issue that the correct standards would be followed. The mistake was so obvious to even the untrained eye. Its really bad business that the garment wasn't inspected before my pickup. If even a quick glance had been given the error would have been noticeable. This alterations shop obviously doesn't know military uniform regulations and doesn't care about the quality of work. I have been in to the shop and have called to have a refund processed. The owner has failed to call me back or refund my money.

After struggling with my weight, I had finally gotten it down to my goal after months and month of patience. I even waited a little longer to make sure I was staying at that weight because I have TONS of clothes that I love but, thankfully, just don't fit anymore!! I tried another alteration place here in Wichita (one which I will not name) that ruined my favorite jeans and 2 pair of pants. This really upset me after working so hard to get my weight down. I finally decided to try again because all of my clothes were dying of boredom in my closet. I took them to Alterations by Sarah after seeing that they specialize in alterations for people like me. I decided to try them out with a few things before I brought the ""motherload"" in. I first took 1 full suit and a pair of slacks and my previously ruined jeans. A younger blond girl was very sweet to me and it took her no time to pin me up (she said she had been doing this for 12 years). I told her about my jeans and she said they can't bring them back to the old length because the other place cut out so much fabric from the bottom, but she suggested making them into a pair of capris and fixing the waist where they took them in horribly. My clothes were ready fast and when I tried them on the following day everything fit wonderfully. I actually even liked my old jeans as capris!! I am super excited to find a nice and efficient alteration place and I totally recommend them and will take more clothes back now. Thanks Sarah!! I love my clothes again!!
