These guys are awesome! I called them based on a recommendation from my father’s friend and I wasn’t disappointed. They did a great job and were clean and nice!Al and his wife came by and looked at my enite house and piano and gave me a great deal and we locked in the date right away because it was getting into the busy season. He was less expensive than many other movers prices.The most important part of the move was my grand piano which was a family piece and they took great care and ease doing it and made sure nothing went wrong. All my stuff was exactly as I packed it and couldn’t have asked for a better experience!
I really do not write reviews too often but in this case I will. I had called AL’s Movers a month or so before my move. I was moving in the middle of the summers and I should have booked it sooner but I procrastinated and waited until the last minute. Every mover I called was busy or did not even call me back. I was happy to hear from Al himself when he called me as I had a pretty big job moving down to Florida. I finally was ready to close on my house and he came by and gave me a quote. I had gotten one other quote which was much higher than Al’s and he would also store it on the trucks for a few days; at a charge of course which I though was more than fair. On the day of the move the movers came and his son Joey was in charge as he does a lot of the Florida moves. They were just great and the whole time kept me at ease.I flew down there and they kept me updated on when they would arrive. They got there and unloaded and everything was in order. I couldn’t have been happier. Thanks Al!
This was the first time I moved since college and I didn't know who to call. I did some reasearch online and was happy with the reviews I read on Al's movers and called them. He came personally to the house with his wife and I must say i like that aspect of service. It becomes personal and he made me feel very comfortable. I had a fairly large house in Rye and Al walked through the whole house and explained the whole process to me. He left me feeling very comfortable. On the day of the move they came with a crew of guys. They packed and wrapped everything up and left no mess. They guess were very nice.I have heard so many horror stories about moving that it was nice to see that there are actually true professionals out there.They did a great job and I recommended them to my cousin who is moving to Florida and from what he told me he had a great experience as well. I would highly recommend them to anyone who is moving.
This was my third time moving in the last few years and this time I chose Al's movers because of the recommendation of my bosses and my clients. I called Al's movers and he gave me a quote over the phone and the quote he gave me was the exactly what I paid. They showed up on time and they moved quickly and neatly. I didn't know what to expect as I have been because the last two times I use different movers and both times were disasters. This time was a complete success and I was very happy with their work they were very polite over the phone then when they got to my house then let me know how long it will take them and kept me up-to-date with everything they were doing. Al and his crew helped me move from my Yonkers house to my Hartsdale house. When I called we set up the appointment and when Al and his wife came to give me the estimate they were very thorough and nice. I decided to have them pack. When the day came for my move the home I was buying was not ready and I needed to store my things for 2 days. Al’s son Joey was at my house which was nice to see how hard he and his family worked in their family business. He made sure everything went smoothly and to my liking. That's because the movers are technically transferring items between state lines, which means they'll be responsible for having the correct licensing and insurance in place.
Long-distance moves are much more complicated to plan, typically requiring you to pay numerous extra expenses for everything from shipping items to renting storage space.

For both local and long-distance moving companies, AMSA is another good place to check out a company's legitimacy. Moving companies aren't required to be an AMSA member, but the ones that are have committed to the association's rules and regulations, which protect both the companies and the consumers hiring them. If a company isn't an AMSA member, that doesn't mean it isn't reputable, but an AMSA membership is a clear indication of legitimacy.
