Terrible company
I was with them for 17 years and just in the last two years started questioning their bills. Last week did it . I came home to find they had delivered 16 gallons that I had not asked for . at $5.39 per gallon. $102 for 16 gallons of propane. I checked elsewhere and found the going rate is $2.19 per gallon. I hate to think how much I have been overcharged in the last 17 years. I told them to come and get their tank and shove it.
Doubled the price on my tank in one year and they were charging me $5.15 per gallon of gas. I have done business with Sawyer/Johnson Gas also Suburban Propane Fernandina, (yes, they have three names!) in Fernandina Beach for years and know them personally. Now I can't even get through to the Fernandina branch, I have to speak to someone in Jacksonville. I just had them come and get their tank, I'm done! They are terrible! I wouldn't give them 1 star!
Best: Buy your own tank and when you need a refill call around for the best price. If you own your tank, any propane company can fill it.
We are on an autofill program. We always run out of propane because they don't show up when they should and when we do run out we have to wait at least a week (in the middle of winter) for them to come fill. They also cannot take care of their billing correctly. They never process our payment and assign it to the correct account, even though it is written on the check.
Terrible customer service, terrible rates, terrible, terrible, terrible.
I got burned by steam because of an illegal hot water heater lit by Gary at Subpropane. Can't even apologize for a mistake like a man, has to make lame excuses and lie instead. Charge us for safety classes they ignore. Number 1 priority is to get money any way they can so they can pay off all these lawsuits. Anyone who insists on doing business with Subpropane is a whole lot less than honest.
If you want to get ripped off, then use this company. is about all I can say
Hate them! They deliver whenever the hell they feel like it and expect to be paid immediately, even if the bill is humongous. Stay away from them.
They do not honor their contracts and do not notify customers that the contract they sent and we signed was not valid
Me too! All others in the area are charging 30 to 50 cents less. When I called back to question the disparity, they gave me spin and lip service. Since I lease the tank, it's a pain to switch companies but I think it may be time.
Just found out I was charged 60 cents more per gallon than other prices in the area..... STAY AWAY FROM THEM ! ! ! !
Worst company ever. Will never do business with them again. When it was Rocky Mountain Propane they were awesome. Suburban took over and charged us for propane we never received. Tried to call to get it fixed, wouldn't work with us. Tired to tell us that because it was cold they could put an extra 100 gallons in tank. Talked to multiple other companies that said it couldn't happen.
Absolutely the worst both in service and delivery! I worked with Littles Gas and was very happy with them and then unfortunately they wer bought by this terrible company. It took over 3 weeks to get service on a stove then another 2 weeks to get them to come back to run a gas line. 11 days to get a refill because I wasn't willing to pay $75 emergency fee. THEY SUCK!!!
We receive propane and was charged $5.42 a gallon which is extremely high compared to competitors. They kept giving us the run around as to why our propane was so high saying it was because it was in such high demand. That's wrong because a competitor sells it for $2.42 a gallon and that's not just for a first time customer, that's across the board. This company does not tell you how to save money with them or even tells you what the cost of the propane is before they come out. They also didn't give us a contract to sign or any information as to why our propane cost was so high. I switched companies and had them come get their tank and the fuel in it. $2000 for propane is ridiculous and all their extra fees are also unnecessary. They have too big if an overhead or someone's pockets are getting fat from the over charge that they put on their customers.
We originally dealt with Farm & Home, who were terrific. After the merger with Suburban, the service severely deteriorated: missed appointments, unreturned phone calls, our tank ran out of propane during the winter, etc.. NO STARS!!!!
Myself, parents, and sister have this company as a propane provider.... 1st my sister had problems with them on the price she was locked in at a price and when they filled her tank they charged her $1.26 more per gallon, now my parents this joke of a company put a new regulator on the tank and it was leaking I know bc I was the one that no noticed it when I was over there one night my dad called them right away they said that someone will be out in the morning needless to say they never showed up so he called them again this time they came out and fixed the leak, but when my dad call the office to see what they could do about crediting his account they told him that they can not credit his account and the leak was his problem.. Now for me they locked out my tank bc of a $168 after I just paid $200 one month ago and I thought that the account was current bc I never received a bill or call from them... One thing is for sure they are losing 3 customers and I hope that people do there homework before thinking about going with this company...
I have worked with this company serveral times. They have always been on time and kept my cost to what they have told me. I have had an underground tank installed by them and lines to my new heating system installed.
I always compare prices since I own my tank and them usually come in with the best prices for me. I agree it was different having to let me them run my credit before doing service but with the state of the economy I can't blame them. They are a business and want to stay in business.
I will continue to contact them for my propane needs.
