I brought in my sick cat who needed long-term care to Dr. Poster and Dr. Bayazit because they came highly recommended through friends. They were wonderful with their advice and I was looking forward to leaving my cat there. However, the whole thing quickly turned sour on the very first day because of their office manager and administrative staff. When I raised a question on the bill and asked to discuss it with the doctor at the end of the day, the office manager, Kim, said that she would be the only one I should speak to and that the doctor would not talk to me. When I said that my understanding with the doctor was different on the daily boarding/nursing charges, she again refused to let me discuss anything with Dr. Poster. I insisted that she was not the owner of the practice and that I had a right as a client to speak to the doctor especially since I was looking into boarding my cat for a week.. She went ahead and charged me $450 for meds and boarding for the day and then told me I was holding the staff up because it was 5:30 and they wanted to leave. Meanwhile, they hadn't even brought me my cat. I told her she really had poor customer relations and don't know why she was treating me like this. I told her I'd let her know the next day about bringing my cat hoping to speak to Dr. Poster before then. The next day, Kim called to say Dr. Poster does not want to take my case. I asked to speak to Dr. Poster but she did not put me through. So I finally wrote a letter to Dr. Poster thanking her for her help, explaining the incident with her staff, and asking her to take my cat in her care. I said I would be calling to speak to her later. When I called later that day, they said that if I called again, they would call the police. Sure enough, a police officer called me to discuss the situation and I explained what happened. The officer was shocked himself at the way they treated me and suggested I go elsewhere for vet care. But the worst part was that until that point, I was convinced that the staff never delivered my letter to Dr. Poster and misrepresented my case for fear that Dr. Poster might disapprove. However, the police officer said Dr. Poster read my letter and was there when he came to take their complaint. I was astounded that Dr. Poster was in agreement with this horrible treatment of a client and that she did not even bother speaking to me about it. Frankly, for a doctor who has received so many awards for all her good deeds with the police in saving animals, I am shocked and have no words for this shabby treatment. When it comes to moral compass and client satisfaction, this office scores very low.
The staff and doctors at Poster Animal Hospital are professional, caring and sensitive. My 15 year old cat suddenly became quite ill. Dr. Bayazit was wonderful and thorough with her new patient. She did only those tests absolutely necessary to help Cleo regain her sight and get her blood pressure and thyroid back in balance. Dr. Bayazit spent a great deal of extra time calling various pharmacies to get the specific medication needed asap. You don't often find that type of dedication to pets and their owners. I highly recommend Drs. Poster and Bayazit.
