Provided by Citysearch -I've eaten here a number of times and have had a lot of the dishes -- I have yet to be disappointed with anything I've eaten. I've lived in a number of states where ""Authentic"" Mexican is advertised a lot, including California and Texas, but this restaurant has got to be my favorite -- it's not a chain so they can make the food how they want and not how a corporate office interprets ""Authentic.""
The Serving Staff is excellent and always very friendly and attentive. You always get a basket of hot chips with a very tasty salsa to begin - if you like some extra heat you can ask for the fresh pico de gallo. Lunch specials come with a cup of soup - the chicken vegetable and chicken tortilla are both excellent with the tortilla being a touch towards the spicy side. Lunch specials are very well priced and come out to you hot, fresh and quick.
Dinners and regular meal selections from the menu are bigger and almost all come with rice and beans. The Chicken Milanese is outstanding! The burritos, flautas, chimichangas, enchiladas and tacos (shrimp and steak are both great!) are all dishes I've tried and were all large portions at a very reasonable price.
Let's talk about dessert now...they have a few desserts including fried ice cream which is excellent and a delicious Tres Leches Cake (Three Milk Cake) which is soooooo moist, but my favorite is the Flan - it's the best I've ever tasted and is baked fresh, not purchased from another bakery!
I found this restaurant in February of 2011 and will be going there for years to come! Become a regular there and you won't regret it.

Provided by Citysearch -The building is easy to miss if you're not careful, but the food is worth seeking out this little slice of Mexico in Metro Detroit. The food is comparable to the taquerias and restaurants I frequented while living in San Antonio, TX. Hot chips and fresh salsa (easily the best in Detroit) are served before the meal, but watch out! It's easy to fill up on these outstanding appetizers. Here's a tip: sprinkle the salt/paprika/spice mix onto the chips for extra flavor -- just like in Mexico. I've sampled numerous items from the menu, but as a fajita and taco fan, I prefer the steak fajitas and tacos al carbon. The waitstaff are friendly and accommodating and the intimate, but brightly decorated dining room, make for an enjoyable experience. The only downside is their lack of a liquor license. Cold beer or a margarita would be the perfect complement to a New Mexico meal. However, if you let that deter you, you'll miss out on one of the best kept dining secrets in the area.
I have been eating here whenever I am in the area for about 10 years now. The food is excellent!
