Horrible don't waste your time here. I was quoted one price on the phone then another when I arrived suggesting I should get six braids instead of five. Okay whatever. Finally after finishing six braids a hour 1/2 later I reach to give her the money nd she claimed she said over the amount she had told me over the phone. So the price went from 50,60,70 NEVER WILl BE BACK. Nd a day later my hair is looking like crap 😖😖😖

My 1st time going to this place, in the beginning experience was horrible. It turned out good by the end of the day. I had 2 braiders for my box braids, and it only took them 4 1/2 hours which is very good time etiquette. I got my braids done on Thursday August 18th, had to go back Saturday August 20th because two of my braids came out. Today it's August 27th and I have about 8-10 braids come out. Which is almost the entire lower back of my head. Then I go back today 8/27 and the owner wanna go back and forth with me stating that my hair is to short in the back the braids are going to keep coming out. My hair has grew a little within the week and was shorter when 1st braided. I told her if it's to short why you didn't warn me at 1st this may happen? The problem is they use grease and/or beeswax on the hair before braiding it. That's going to make the hair slide. I will never return there again they are unprofessional. I only rated 1 because there's no 0. Taking my business elsewhere.
Very ����nice Place...They are professional and their price is reasonable. They are very nice people, they respect costumers and they do good Job I'll go again next Week... I recommend their Salon for African Hair Braid.
Horrible place 2 visit...I drove all the way from Rochester Hills just 2 get my hair braided. I called 1st & spoke with the owner whom schedule me an appointment @ 6pm but didn't arrive until 7:42. Explaining 2 me about the previous car accident she had & now having 2 depend on other people 2 take her around is the reason 4 her tardiness. Request ed 2 have my braids micro-small...instead I got micro-big n the back & small n the front assuming I wasn't going 2 look at the back. The salon was freezing & rudely the briaders all laughed & spoke in their language the whole time. After I expressed how dissatisfied I was with my braids...I still was charged the full amount of $180. Leaving me with having to re-brand my hair over. It is very obvious that customers satisfaction is not Sylvia African braiding salon 1st priority but taking the cash of a dissatisfied customer is. It's so sad u can't trust anyone 2 do the job they were paid 2 do. I will never n life visit this horrible salon again.
The very first thing that I always notice about any place of business is whether or not its clean. ANY PLACE OF BUSINESS should be clean you'd think right? Especially one that specializes and practices in the hair industry due to hygeine and all. #epicfailThe very next thing I look for when I'm looking to spend my hard earn money is how I'm treated. I look to have a rather enjoyable consumer experience; albeight it short - but the professionals need to be nice and courteous! Another #epicfailI'm actually writing this reviewing as I'm sitting in the chair while my head is being worked on so you know I must be PO'd. I've asked several times that the hair around my edges be left out and not to have any hair extensions added to it. I've also asked one of the braiders to not braid so hard so that my scalp won't feel like its getting ready to explode in 0-30 seconds. Instead of acknowledging my concerns and saying sure we can accomodate you; the lady wants to argue.Needless to say that the previous (horrible ) reviews should have weighed more heavily than my desire to have my hair braided. Lesson learned and I'll be sure to tell the 2 ladies once they completed the job that I will not be returning and I'll tell all of my friends that live within a 45 minute radius.Signed -- a small business owner who understands that the customer is always right.
I have going to this place for years, and they do a great job.... The downside is that they are a tad bit unprofessional and every time I go there are always babies crying, running and crawling on the floor. I just suck it up and go anyway because they do such a good job and they will cut a deal with you.
