Boccaccio's Restaurant

We did not know the area but chose Boccaccio's Restaurant for my son and new daughter in laws rehearsal dinner. We were so pleased with everything. The view, service and food were great. Our waiters were very attentive and made sure all went smoothly. I would highly recommend this restaurant again.

Celebrated Easter & my Mom's birthday there and the service, food, and a fresh italian guys at the front door were all excellent. Didn't know what to expect but I did good. Food was fresh & hot! Mimosa's were cold and free flowing. Will definitely go back when I'm visiting from Las Vegas.

Great view didn't make up for average food & awful service

We went to Boccaccio's to celebrate a birthday. There were 10 adults in our party and we were seated at a large round table with a very nice view of the lake. Drink orders were taken promptly and delicious warm bread was brought to the table. Our waiter wasn't rude, but wasn't friendly either and didn't even say ""Happy Birthday"" to my 70 year old mother (though there were balloons and flowers there to clearly indicate that fact). He didn't even give a ""How are you all doing this evening?"". He just did his job, no extra personality. Actually he didn't even do his job all that well since drinks sat empty for a VERY long period of time and when the food did arrive (after a ridiclous 30-40 minutes of waiting for it!) it wasn't hot and they had forgotten one of the meals. They had to cook it up quickly in the kitchen while that poor guest had to sit and wait for another 10-15 minutes. (No offer to give a discount on that meal either!) To top off the awful service, they brought my mother a flaming baked Alaska for her birthday, which for a moment I thought was so nice of them. Until we got the bill and they had charged us for it. How insane is that? Over $450 spent and we left feeling completely dissapointed. There are far better restraunts in the area that have much better food and know how to treat their guests.

too impressive

it was my first time there. We had made reservations, so when we go there at 830 we were seated right away and the place was pretty packed.
I absolutely fell in love with the setting... the amount of lighting... the boats... the walk by the lake after dinner, but I can't praise the food enough. their wine list is extensive and the Chilean Seabass was too good! I definitely recommend Boccaccio's, especially for dates!

Wonderful Restaurant ! Absolutely beautiful location

The perfect place for a causal romantic evening on a summer night.
We have been going to Boccaccios Restaurant for years and frankly I was shocked to see some of the negative reviews and wonder how could my POSTIVE experience be so different?
So I will only speak for myself, my friends and family that go there on a regular basis.
WE LOVE IT! The Sesame Crusted Ahi Tuna is wonderful and is second to none.
Other personal recommendations are
Blue Wedge, Chilean Sea Bass, Australian Lobster Tail (which I might add is reasonably priced for the quality) Filet Mignon and for dessert Baked Alaska.
I?m at a total loss to understand some of the complaints I?ve read here but I can tell you that the two owners are warm genuine generous people and a customer would have to be very high on the obnoxious scale for them to be rude to anyone.
Please try this place for yourself?it very causal on weekends during the day and yet more formal in the evening without being stuffy. In the summer it does get very busy on certain nights and there is a wait if you don?t have reservations. We love this place and we are real customers that have been going there for years....

The portions are small and very expensive. The serivce is extremely poor. The management doesn't care if customers receive satisfactory food or service and this is very clearly shown-just try speaking to a manager. This restaurant pulls people in due to location and it's unfortunate because there are many many better restaurants in the area. You will be doing yourself a favor by avoiding this restaurant. It is the worst!!

We went there on Saturday for lunch. The restaurant was half empty and they seated up literally 4 feet from a 40 person bridal shower. We were basically ignored. Waited 15 minutes for an iced tea refill. We had asked for another table but were told it was reserved yet that table, along with all the others remained empty. We were so close to this party we couldn't hear eachother speak...and then when the party seated themselves for the opening of presents, I was lietrally 1 foot away from the bride. Another person in our luncheon party was a foot and a half from the bridal shower guests. It was like being at their party. We were incredibly uncomfortable. Upon leaving we were told the manager had ""stepped out"". Some 20-something arrogant guy said he was acting manager. When we told him, very politely, how we were uncomfortable and showed where we were sitting he actually started to argue and had a ""oh shut up"" attitude.
The food was cold and unappetizing and horrifically overpriced. You are paying for location but could get a better meal at the various restaurants in the area. I had never been there and will NEVER return.
Do yourself a favor and find another restaurant. You will be glad you did!!!

Great food on the lake.

Food is excellent. I highly recommend the crab cakes and the flourless chocolate cake.

Westlake's Best!

A friend and I stopped in for dinner before a theater show on a Sat evening. We were seated right away. We sat at a private table near the lake, which was reflecting the setting sun. Ducks swam by as we enjoyed the most delicious food. I highly reccomend the lamb. The ambience is to die for. And the service is stellar. It started to rain , but we were quickly and professionally covered by large umbrellas with heat lamps to keep us warm. Definitely a place to impress. This is high class!
