Medical Society of the State of New York is a nonprofit organization in Lake Success, N.Y. Its membership support services division offers membership recruitment and retention, staff support for sections and special constituencies and meeting services. Its governmental affairs division monitors state and federal legislation and regulations issued by agencies, such as the New York state health, insurance and education departments. Its sociomedical economics division provides information and assistance to members concerning medical and reimbursement policies and claims. Its office of general counsel provides information on various legal topics and issues that affect physicians' practices. Its other divisions include technical support services, marketing services, physicians health and finance and administration.
