Mark Rutherford is a Licensed Psychotherapist in private practice in South Florida. He received his Master’s degree in Clinical Social Work from Boston University and his Bachelor’s degree in Communications from Florida State University. In 1997, Rutherford opened his private practice. The focus of his work began primarily in grief and loss. Over the years his practice evolved into a strong focus on marriage counseling and relationship issues as well. In 2002, he spent a year traveling to Washington DC to receive his training in Imago Therapy from some of the most respected therapists in the field. Rick Brown (author of “Imago Relationship Therapy” and featured on Oprah), Jette Simon (author of “Imago: The Therapy of Love”, featured contributor to “Psychotherapy Networker” magazine), Hedy Schleifer (documentary about her work “Hedy and Yumi: Crossing the Bridge” won 1st prize at 2011 Toronto Film Festival, also featured speaker at TED Conference). As a Certified Imago Relationship Therapist, Rutherford’s practice concentrates on relationship issues and couples counseling as well as the spectrum of other related mental health concerns including grief and loss, anxiety related disorders, addiction concerns, sexually compulsive behaviors, depression, LGBTQ and gender identity issues, and anger management.
