Went here for a date night with the husband - as some other reviewers said, it's pretty pricey. That said, for a nice date night and delicious food, it is worth it every once in a while depending on your budget. The atmosphere is romantic and the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. My husband ordered the octopus salad and I ordered the minestrone soup to start. Both were fantastic! I had a few bites of my husband's dish and it was so good that I wanted to order a second. My minestrone was also delicious, a hearty vegetable soup with great flavor. For our mains we ordered the whole branzino special and the seafood (clams, mussels, shrimp) with spaghetti. The branzino was delicious, but a lot of work since my husband ordered it whole and had to de-bone it himself. This was his choice though, and he loved it, but just an FYI when ordering. My husband also said there was a little more salt than he would have preferred, but I tasted it and loved the salt crust, so I think that's personal preference. My spaghetti was cooked al dente and the shellfish were fresh and delicious. They also chopped up some scallops in the dish, which was a nice surprise. For dessert we had the crema di amaretto, which was creamy, rich delightfulness. Overall we really enjoyed our meal here and will be back.
Great dining experience. Service was good. Despite a very busy room that night, the hostess and manager went out of their way more than once to accommodate some special needs of someone in our party, which everyone at the table really appreciated. On the food side, everything was delicious starting with the roasted veggie plate and burrata starters. The sole was as good as I've ever tasted; fresh fish, perfectly seasoned and crusted. My girlfriend opted for the osso buco risotto tossed in parmesan. A whole block of osso buco sat in the middle of her plate surrounded by a cheesy risotto infused with the flavors of the braised veal shank. In a nod to my her low-carb diet, she ate only about half of the risotto portion... which took incredible will power! Although we did not take advantage of it on this first visit, the cheese selection alone warrants another visit. And no question, there will be another visit next time I am in town!
For the longest time the only thing I knew about Fritto Misto was the huge crowd of people waiting outside every night for a table. We finally tried it for lunch on a weekend and we were one of only a handful of people there. I finally understand now why there's a huge line out the door! The fresh, not dried, pasta is absolutely a revelation from a restaurant. The pesto sauce was full of flavor and, despite the fact that I was planning on only eating half and saving the rest, I ended up porking the entire thing down in one sitting. Obviously, in the middle of the day, there's not much atmosphere, but I can guarantee you'll get a good pasta meal here, so if you want to brave the crowds, head here on an evening, or if you want the place to yourself, try it for lunch on a weekend
my review is for the restaurant in culver city, What a wonderful place....the atmosphere and the food were fantastic...the service was perfect...the waitress was on her game bigtime....serving size was good and everything tasted great...I normally like my meat rare, but this night I tried the steak tar tar, It was so delicious...free parking for 2 hours around the block was pretty cool too.....really had a good time here and giving 5 stars....
Every now and then you hear about a place that is real good - and it is! The food was very delicious - I had a very good salad (the kind you devour) and soup (split pea). Their pasta list is also quite impressive. The menu was very fairly priced, and the setting nice and informal. Basically you will lick your plates clean and the bill won't upset you later that day. Parking is easy and they have spaces behind the restaurant.
Whether you just want a quick bite or a cozy, somewhat romantic dining experience, the food here is UNREAL!!!! Not only is it healthy, you can be a meat-eater or vegan--doesn't matter, everything is so tasty and you get SO MUCH food for your dollar! Service isn't super-quick, but the people are so nice and you shouldn't be in a rush if you go here anyway. Thank God for this place!!
Good menu with all the basics plus some unexpected surprises. Their pastas are great, very hearty (but not the most refined flavors). The salads are always excellent, and the chicken dishes are awesome, too. My favorite thing on the menu is the rollati, eggplant stuffed with riccota, and you can order it as an appetizer or entree.
This restaurant is a gem - I've never had a dissapointing dish and I always leave wanting more. The service is impeccable, the presentation simple, yet elegant and the ambience is very relaxing. The sole drawback is the price. If I could, I'd eat there everyday, but this place is best enjoyed for special occasions.
Unless you own a private jet and can shuttle back and forth to Rome, italy- this cozy and elegant restaurant will spoil your taste buds endlessly. The feast is decadent and the owners, Marco & Fabrizio and their team of Italian waiters will pamper you with effortless charm. A must-do in Santa Monica!!
It's a small sophisticated, yet relaxed venue that's always busy but never too loud to hear the people you're with. A wood burning fire is always going in the back corner behind the bar, with a chef busy at work. It is the food, however, that makes this place truly shine.
