When I see one star on a review here I have to wonder if somebody hung a sign out on another place and claimed to be Mirabelle, or maybe they ate a bad Mirabelle plum and assumed it was from the restaurant. I did see the review about the bartender, and I am hopeful that management will look into it. If it's true, its an abheration of the excellent service that I am accostomed to at Mirabelle's.
The menu grows and changes over time, but I feel safe picking almost anything off the menu. Highly recommended

Read my review in chow hound. I hate to give one star but I feel like in this case it is really needed. I have been to this place well over a hundred times and fully enjoyed myself dining with friends and having lunch meetings. The service has always been the best and still is. With that said, I noticed the quality of the food has gone down, there's no thought to the dishes, it's just blah. I don't know what has changed. Did they get a new chef? A new manager? I'm not sure but what I am sure about is that restaurant basics were missing. No salt and pepper shakers at the table? It's not just my table but all the tables didn't have them. I had to ask the waiter-it's like having to ask for utensils or a napkin at a restaurant. I also noticed the lively vibe of the place missing. The dining room use to be busy and so did the bar but now it seems like the place is taking a dive. God I really hope not, I've met the owner before and he was really sweet with me and my friends- he sat us down and even got our order for drinks. Overall my last experience was embarassing becase I was with fellow foodies. If not for the attentive servers the whole experience would have been worse. I would encourage management to step it up, get a consultant and turn this classic back into what it use to be. Focus your menu a little more and don't raise your prices - this will be the kiss of death for a restaurant in this economy.

I stopped in Mirabelle after work around 6:45pm. I know they have a late night happy hour until 8pm. I took a look at the Happy Hour menu and ordered the cucumber martini and a bite to eat. Before making the drink, the bartender asked if it was o.k. to ring another drink on my tab and run my card as she was taking off shortly. I must say, I was taken aback. How rude. I asked if the Happy Hour was ending anytime soon, and she said no, that Happy Hour runs til 8pm. Not only did she pull this stunt with me, but solicited stacking an additional drink onto every other patrons bill before she left. Incredibly gaudy; I can only imagine what it is like to work on a shift following hers. She is taking money out of the next bartender's shift, and destroying the suspension of service by trying to squeeze an extra buck out of her clientele. Transparent! Needless to say, I won't be back.

My girlfriend and I stopped by Mirabelle's for a little discount happy hour drinking, with some eats to go along with it. While the prices were right, the thing that stood out the most was the exceptional service from our server John. Not only did he accomodate all our needs and wants, he was always checking out to make sure if we needed anything. While most server's can be overbearing, John was subtle in his attentiveness. Never intruding until the right time. Overall, one of the top 3 greatest servers I have ever had at any restaurant anywhere, and I eat out quite a bit. The food was also delectable. It was just a small sampling, seeing as how we were there for some happy hour deals. Those deals were very good. The chicken taco (spicy) was delicious, as well as the happy hour macaroni and cheese. We also had calamari, which was a bit tough, I've had much better in that regard, but overall, the food was very good.
I can't hype the service enough though. That was the joy of the experience. Simply wonderful. Well done John. Well done!!!!!!

I visited this restaurant during my lunch hour and I received amazing service. I had the vodka penne pasta, it was delicious! I even got a chance to speak with the owner of the restaurant and he offered me a free dessert!!! The waiter was great and very attentive. The food was amazing and served hot! I will definitely visit again

I enjoy Steve Martin. I like that he's had white hair for as long as I can remember, and that he's hosted SNL a bajillion times but was never a cast member, and that his last movie was a rom com where he smoked pot and made out with Meryl Streep. However, my favorite thing about Steve Martin is that he wrote ""Shopgirl,"" a novella about a mousy young lady named Mirabelle who falls for a smooth, rich older man, and then cast himself as the smooth, rich older man in the movie adaptation. (Boy was he smooth though, guys. He bought gloves from her and then secretly sent them to her as a gift!) Jason Schwartzman was also in the movie, which is notable only because everything Jason Schwartzman-related is notable.
Mirabelle the restaurant is totally the kind of place that Mirabelle the character would dine at with smooth, rich older men. It's managed to retained its stuffy fancypants-ness in a hip part of the Sunset Strip. Since I was there for lunch with my coworkers, I ordered a turkey burger with fries. The turkey part was kind of dry, but that's how turkeys are designed and that's how I like my burgers. That way it doesn't get soggy when I eat the other half for dinner as a side dish to my three mini dinner cupcakes. If I was there with a rich, older Steve Martin-type of man I probably would order something classier, like white wine and a complex salad. The restaurant is also nice for this sort of situation because it's kind of sunken in below the level of the sidewalk, so you feel like a sort of mole creature peering up, and it's good for discrete situations in case your friends walk by and you don't want them to see that you're out with a man old enough to be your father, or an ex-con, etc.

I work pretty close to Mirabelle so I often make it a lunch destination. Flavor is king, of course, and I'll get to that in a second but I also like Mirabelle for their atmosphere. It's never too busy at lunch and we love to sit in their enclosed patio. When it comes to food I'd highly recommend love their Braised Rib Sandwich for my meat lovers and my fish lovers should get the Baked Salmon Salad. Nom nom!
Beautiful dinning experience, great decor, lovely and delicious food!
I enjoyed how nice the waiter was. He seated us right away. I loved the bread.
My quesadilla was yummy yummy goodness
I've never tried spinach tortilla before and when I did, it tasted sooo good
In short, Very Good Prices, and Service for real Delicious Food
Everything Was Great! I Walked Out Feeling Great With A Big Smile On My Face
Choosing Mirabelle for lunch was a spur of the moment decision. A coworker and friend of mine and I decided to go somewhere nice for our meal, since it was a gorgeous Friday afternoon and we really did not want to go to boring Subway yet again. We surveyed the lunch menu that included salads like a classic Caesar, a chopped salad, a salmon salad, sandwiches, wraps, and pastas. One of the kind popped out from the restaurant after a few minutes, very warmly greeted us and told us the specials. My friend was lured in by the delicious tune of chicken quesadilla and kobe burger on the lunch specials and I agreed. We were treated with the kindest and most prompt service imaginable. My friend ordered the chicken quesadilla special while I ordered the veggie sandwich that is on the regular menu. We received a basket full of warm slices of fresh bread, a cold dish of butter, and another dish of olive tapenade. The second I tasted all three in combination, my mouth nearly exploded from delight. If the bread and appetizer were this good, I couldn’t even imagine how good the actual meal would be! And I was surprised at how quickly the food came out. My friend and I happily chomped away at our meals, her chicken quesadilla, my veggie sandwich. The bread on my sandwich was pillow-soft and the grilled vegetables added rich texture while the pesto sauce accentuated the flavors of the vegetables. My friend said that the quesadilla was great, as well, and indeed, it looked quite stuffed with plenty of cheese, chicken, and a healthy amount of guacamole and sour cream on the side. All the while, we had attentive and caring servers rounding out the entire amazing and delicious experience.

This place is close to our offices and has become a regular lunch spot for my coworkers. They always seem to have an awesome selection of lunch specials during the week, and the portion size is enough to share.
Our favorites include the crab bisque, chicken dijon sandwich, sweet potato fries and the burger. Great service and friendly wait staff make this a great place to grab lunch during the week!

Check out the review of this and many other happy hours at: happiest hours(dot)blog spot(dot)com - no spaces between words, but City Search won't allow it any other way. We loved the interior of this open, airy place, and the service was incredible - fast, friendly, seemed happy to be working there. Unfortunately, because it is also sort of open air, a few parties were smoking (which ruins any space in which I'm trying to enjoy good food). We had two martinis (one Greek and one watermelon) which were GREAT, calamari, hummus, the cheese plate, and they brought out bread, butter and tapenade, and for two of us it was $30 plus tip, so we left forty. The calamari was so-so, but the hummus and cheese plate were both very good. Here's the problem - the prices on the drinks are very good, but the appetizers were barely discounted from the regular menu. Still, we left sated and happy for twenty bucks each, so can't complain. Worth checking out. We'll probably return soon.

i used to crave the salmon salad at mirabelle as did my coworkers and friends... I know at least 10 people who would order it at least once a week. the combination of flavors was unique (and divine!) with the vinagrette, fava beans, sweet corn and perfectly grilled salmon... in the last month or two the chef has changed the recipe. he or she swapped out the fava beans for green beans and tomatoes and the lovely light vinagrette for a heavy mayonnaise based goop. I can't express how disappointed i am in the NEW salmon salad. Please bring back the old one, mirabelle!!! there is simply nothing that compares....

This is one Sunset Strip restaurant that hasn't disappointed me. I've only gone once for lunch, but I loved the chicken wrap (with avocado! and bacon!). I definitely recommend the sweet potato fries for a side - they're much tastier than French fries and I've been told that they're healthier for you anyway. The decor is elegant and fun at the same time, and the service is fantastic - they really want to make sure that you enjoy your meal. The food took a while, but the complimentary bread and tapenade were definitely enough to hold me over.

Most of the restaurants on/near Sunset Plaza are bad, but Mirabelle is like a 1/2 step to MAYBE a full step above the rest. What i really like is its quasi-subterranean location - the covered patio/bar is great for lunch and the indoor area to the left is more like a regular restuarant experience. The ahi tartare is pretty good but what I really like more than anything is the complimentary tapenade they serve w/the bread -- sooo yummy! I could just walk in, order a drink and have that as my meal and i'd be all set.

So Brit's new favorite stop-over on the Sunset Strip serves some fine food but it's nothing to write home about. The daily lunch menu is good for occasional dining but the value is too average for the cost of the meal. The service is great however. Good for large groups (large being like 8-10).
