Cataract Surgery
For the correction of the most extreme levels of nearsightedness and astigmatism, the procedure of choice is the implantation of a contact lens-like material inside the eye. Unlike cataract surgery or Refractive Lens Exchange surgery, the natural lens is not removed; rather, the implant sits in front of the natural lens. In effect, the contact lens implant becomes an internal contact lens. The EVO Visian ICL is an additive lens, meaning the natural lens is not removed from the eye.
