I would like to first start out by saying that I love the selection in the store and had been going for years! One stop shop for beauty needs. There were so many times I intended to buy one item and came out with several! Never had an issue and the customer service was always great. Never felt like I was being "watched" and associates were always were polite and prompt whenever I had questions (Asians). I had not been to the store in almost a year and was kind of surprised today to see no Asians in the store.There was a black woman and Hispanic looking woman working behind the front counter. While paying for my things, I politely asked the Hispanic looking woman if they were under new management. She instantly seemed trigger, as if she was offended and been asked the same question 100 times.She in turn asked me why wold I ask that. I replied 'because the Asians are usually working in here.' She then got up in arms and said that they were her family and that she had been working there for a year. I then explained to her that I had not been in the store for a year so I had never seen her . She then goes on to say "welcome back we are new faces and they(Asians) dont work every day. Noticing her being in defense mode I tried to ensure her that I was not trying to be disrespectful yet she decided to add injury to insult by saying "All Asians are not racist". I was baffled at how I was being talked to in a place I enjoy spending money in and have spent thousands of dollars over the course of 8 years. I dont expect top notch service only decency. I will never spend a coin in this establishment until she is out of there. I will be referring family and friends to a beauty supply store that knows how to handle simple questions with decency.
