I was at the Service Counter when PHIL T, came in. Writing this review to set the record straight. PHIL T came in with an attitude. He was loud, abusive, belligerent, & basically had a temper tantrum, in the store, trying to embarrass the employees, in front of other customers. I was turned onto Year Round, by a landscaper friend. The guys at Year Round practically bend over backwards to help you. They are knowledgeable, experienced & do great repair work. Year Round requires a $40 Diagnostic Charge deposit, when you drop off a machine, for repair. This covers their mechanic's time. Their mechanic might have to spend 1/2 hour, or more, on a machine just to determine the issues. If you fix the machine, they deduct the $40, from your bill. If the machine has major issues, & the customer elects to not to repair it, Year Round keeps the deposit. The deposit is compensation for the the time the mechanic spent to provide the repair estimate. Another earlier reviewer, indicated he thought keeping the deposit was a scam. I'd like to ask him, if he works for free. It never ceases to amaze me how many nasty. vindictive, people there are in this world.
I brought my 2.5 year old lawn mower in because after 30 minutes of use it would shut off. I communicated problem to counter person who told me it was a fuel problem . I stated that I use mower on 2 lawns and use about 1.75 gallons per month and that I use fuel stabilizer and always fill tank on mower with funnel with a screen filter . He then wrote up service request that it needed a tuneup which I told him was not correct as I changed oil & filter in April 2017 . I indicated that it was electrical , maybe a coil . I asked that any parts that came off mower be saved for me and was told that they would be. He called several days later saying service was complete and tested & to pick up . I said that I hope that problem was fixed and told them it didn't need a tune up as they had done . That nite while doing lawn it shut down after 30 minutes. I brought back and asked service person why he didn't listen to anything I had said . Person was very insulted and rude to me that I questioned his judgement . After I pick this up , I will never bring another mower back there in the future for service . When I pick this up I would expect that I will be credited for work on it that was not needed .
Year Round Power had my chainsaw for 3 1/2 weeks and kept putting me off saying they were very busy and would get to it as soon as they could. I went into the store to get my saw back to go somewhere else and they refused to refund my deposit. As soon as I contacted Stihl corporate to complain I had a call from Year Round saying it was a major part that was broken that would be over $200 to fix. When I went into the store to pick up my saw they offered $40 for the saw towards a new saw purchase. Avoid these scammers.
Super experience. The staff is knowledgeable and professional, and made the effort to find me parts and special order them for a 15 yr old piece of equipment. Highly recommended
