Provided by SuperpagesI am a part of a high school band, and every time we have a home game, stake and shake is the place everyone goes to eat afterwards. We've had problems with the bills, service, and kids were stuck waiting for 2+ hours for a shake. Stake and Shake did take the time to go to our school and get a scheduale and were extra prepared for our arrival on the day of the last game. Our Band will continue to go to there for home games, and we appreciate their paitence when a mass group of loud mouths like us show up at 11 at night ready for some grub.

I was in West Chicago on Sunday and decided to get lunch at the Steak n Shake because I've never been to one. I thought it was more like fast food but they sit you down like a diner and take your order. The waitress was friendly enough, but took longer than I liked to take my order. I got a double steak burger with cheese and fries, and asked for a shake to go. The first thing I got was my shake...uh, I did say to go. Whatever, I let it sit.
After a long time my burger and fries arrived and they put everything in the burger when I specifically asked for lettuce and cheese only. I scraped the extra crap off my burger and took a bite (cuz I don't tend to complain to my food handlers) and then what looked like the manager came back and apologized and asked if I wanted him to fix the order. I said sure and 30 seconds later he comes back with the proper burger order. The burger was good...pretty greasy, but the fries are like string fries, which I think are inconvenient because they are so thin. You have to grab like three at a time, which makes you look like a pig cuz you're eating three fries at a time!
After I was done I washed the grease off my hands...the bathroom was in good order.
I went to pay at the front and the manager gave me a 20% discount without me asking or making a fuss, so that was nice of him.
Overall, the place started off as a one star joint and got saved to three stars by an apologetic manager trying to make things right. I'd stop by again and give them another shot.

Provided by SuperpagesIn a nutshell, my order was made wrong but the manager fixed it without me asking or complaining and he gave me a 20% discount. The bathroom was clean, paking was easy, and the waitress was nice. I'd come back and give them another shot.
