Scoop Deck

In the true spirit of vacation fun, my family and friends decided, during our week in Maine, we would endeavor to find the best ice cream. We tried several places before we got to the Scoop Deck. The charming atmosphere inside coupled with the helpful pleasant staff created the start of an exceptional experience. The children decided ona two full scoop ice cream combination on the outstanding homemade waffle cone. These ice cream "cones" were not only packed with a delicious huge portions of ice cream, but the quality and flavor were "the best ice cream we've ever had". The flavors sampled were pumpkin, cookies and cream, cake batter, triple chocolate explosion and more. But hey, who believes an 18 year old? The mature adults on this quest for the best placed orders for "Turtle" and "Raspberry Revolution", also on a homemade waffle cone. The "Raspberry Revolution" was a sublime concoction of red raspberry ice cream with rich decadent fudge swirls and, when you thought it couldn't get better,....dark chocolate raspberry cordial filled mini cups. The ice cream was the highest quality, creamy and rich while the fudge tasted like the homemade hot fudge from apothecaries of yore. The waffle cone was very light and crisp unable to steal away any of the spotlight from the deliciousness of the ice cream, but acting like the best supporting actor in an award winning film. The "Turtle" proved to be an equal competitor. Smooth luscious vanilla ice cream infused with rich buttery swirls of thick caramel with tender bites of fudgy brownie. Heaven on earth.

So head to the Scoop Deck, don't be intimidated by a long line in the deep heat of summer, it's well worth the wait. The near billboard sized sign conveniently located outside that lists the flavors will make your decision torment. Guarantee one of the most difficult decisions you'll have to make. One word to the wise. As I watched a credit card only carrying tourist, having made it to the ordering counter, mouth watering, leave with his head hung low....being told....CASH ONLY. One of the worst mistakes he probably ever made.
