While on a recent visit to Reno, we found this charming restaurant. Originally, we chose the River Wild Grille because they were advertised as having a ‘dog friendly’ patio. We made reservations for dinner for our anniversary, and we were very glad we did. We were greeted by a friendly hostess, and seated promptly at a nice patio table. The food was excellent, prepared very well and presented nicely. The friendly wait-staff even brought a dog cookie for each of our dogs. We never felt as if the dogs were an imposition to the staff, and felt the dogs were as welcome as we were. The food was not only prepared by skilled chefs, but the portions were very generous as well. Our server was friendly and helpful, explaining the menu and the specials. The steak was cook as ordered, the mussels tender and flavorful and the crème Brule was outstanding. We will be back the next time we are in Reno.
The service was excellent and the food was really good. Very good portion sizes. We loves their ahi poke appetizer. Yum. Recommend Wild River Grille as a must go to dining experience. We liked the live music too.
Honestly, one of the worst places I've been for "fine dining." The owners are terribly rude, condescending young men. The waitress, although nice, was completely incapable of providing good service. Had to wait for an hr and a half to get our food, which was cold and overcooked shrimp. You would think with a name like Scampi they could at least cook a piece of shrimp correctly. Pasta was bad and drinks were even worse. I hate to be judgmental. I'm usually very easy to please, but these people were just so rude. When my girlfriend complained, they basically laughed in her face and tried to make her look stupid. This was supposed to be a special dinner for us at a nice restaurant and it was really just a terrible experience. I will never come back to Scampi.
Food was great and the kids had a good time too! More TV's than anywhere I have been.
