        My system has a small leak that two other technicians have said is too small to detect and it only leaks off a couple of pounds over a few years. Aire Serv was the only company I could get a hold of on memorial day weekend and explained the situation to their call center. On the day of the service, I was at work and my wife and three kids were at home. The Technician shows up and within a few minutes is talking all doom and gloom. He tells her that there is a major leak, the system is at least 5 pounds low($100/lbs), the evaporator coil needs replaced($1900), that even if he added freon it would all leak out quickly and with our unit as old as it is we might as well replace it($7000). He took a check for his "service" fee and left. After speaking with my wife and two of my relatives who are licensed for HVAC, I decided to get a second opinion and called another company. Technician #2 comes out, said the system looks about 2 pounds low, charges the system, and checks for leaks. He couldn't detect a leak, the system is running great and only cost me $195. I have called Aire Serv multiple times trying to get someone from corporate to refund me after their technician tried to screw us and have yet to receive a call back.
