Operational for more than 80 years, Fitz Fresh is a mushroom farm that produces a variety of mushrooms, such as white button, crimini and portabella. The farm occupies over 20 acres of space that yields nearly 12,000 pounds of crop per day. It serves restaurants, markets and distributors throughout California. Fitz Fresh s mushrooms are handpicked, trimmed and inspected before packing. The farm provides mushrooms rich in potassium, protein, vitamin B complex and zero cholesterol. It utilizes a bar coding system that provides information related to the time, date and location of harvested mushroom. Fitz Fresh is a member of the Community Alliance with Family Farmers. The farm is located in Watsonville, Calif.
