Farina's had the most excellent customer service, the employees really care. The first time I went they really took the time to find the right bike for me. I had to go back when my bike was stolen (my fault for not using a good lock) and they gave me a deal to replace the bike and gave me a ton of tips for not letting it happen again. Great company who cares.

I just got a new Giant road bike and was so happy with all the help that I got. I was pretty new to the sport and really had no clue about what I needed. Mike was able to set me up on a great bike that was a great deal. He also did a fitting which helps a huge amount. I feel so much stronger on this bike than I ever have before. Head on in and these folks will help you out too.

I was in the market for a new road bike, when a friend suggested I checkout Farina's. I have lived in Belmont for 20 years and only heard of them. I'm not a racer but I ride in the Pan Mass Challenge and Best Buddies rides. To my surprise, they had the Giant bike I wanted and at the best price around. The selection of top brands and a well educated staff made my buying experience great. It turns out that they also support the local community with a . Kid's reading program. Thank you. Chris Jameson.

I just purchased my brand new Cannondale bike from Farina's. And it's awesome! They have the best selection around. They also did a ""fitting"" for me which made a huge difference. The staff was great and the place was well organized. I would certainly recommend them to my riding friends. Happy Trails. J Frenchfry

I live in Newton, MA and have been purchasing my racing bicycles from them. I've also purchased my kid's bikes there. They have a great ""Buy Back"" program. The service is excellent considering how many repairs they do on a busy spring weekend. They are very genenerous with local schools and charities including the Pan Mass Challenge.
Job well done!!

Farinas does more than just bikes. They sell and service lawnmowers and snowblowers too. Like others on this post I was all about supporting a family owned business. I've purchased a lawnmower and a snowblower there and have had them serviced there for a few years. They are definitely NOT CHEAP....but I always figured it was worth it until this morning. I had dropped my snowblower off for service 3 weeks ago. Said it would be ready in a week. I waited almost 2 weeks to call and check on it. They said, so sorry, only a couple more days. I waited 9 more days and called this morning to see if it was ready. I had the really unfortunate experience of speaking with Anthony Farina....co-owner. When i said that this time my experience had been a bit dissappointing and that it wasn't that it took three weeks, but that my expectations weren't set honestly he TOLD ME TO TAKE MY BUSINESS ELSEWHERE. In this economy what small businees owner would tell a good customer to F$#K themselves and go elsewhere. Absolutley blew my mind. So that is exactly what I am going to do.
They do acceptable work, but they manage their time very poorly, which means that they are completely unreliable in terms of getting things done in the time they say they will. In early December 2008, they told me it would take them 3 weeks before they could take my snowblower in for repair. This was before there had been any snowfall. The good news, they said, was that once they took it, they could turn it around quickly. It was Christmas week, but they said that despite that it shouldn't take longer than a week. In their words, it would "certainly" be finished and returned to me by New Year's Eve, after which they close the store completely to take vacation.
As it turned out, they did not get it done in time for New Years Eve, which was the day of another significant snowfall. So after making me wait 3 weeks before they even brought it in, and then sitting on it for another 10 days in their shop, they still couldn't do the job. Granted, one of the 10 days they kept it was a holiday, but with 9 days they had plenty of time. Plus, the coming of Christmas wasn't a surprise; they knew what the calendar looked like before they made their time estimate and they still couldn't get it right. They explicitly said they would get it back to me before their January vacation, but they couldn't get it done. I now have to shovel my driveway by hand while my snowblower sits in their empty shop and they enjoy a few days off.
So in short, if you can find other good repair people you should use them, because you can't count on Farina's to get things done when they say they will.
