I purchased a sectional with the extended warranty less than 3 years ago. I was told that the warranty covered defects, stains, wear & tear, as far as being told that it would cover the foam in the cushions breaking down, etc. Now, my sectional is falling apart to the extent that part of the frame is protruding out the back. They sent someone out, he took almost 30 pics of it, now I'm being told there's nothing they can do, that the warranty doesn't cover any of that. Then why send him out, why was I told it did? I call customer service, got the run around, I'm not happy. I will NEVER buy from there again.
I sent payment last year with a tracking number that arrived on the 8th and the due date was the 10th. They didn't process the payment until the 12th. When I called to say the payment arrived on the 8th, the rep didn't believe me, didn't even want the tracking number. I was ticked, she said make sure I send the payment at least 10 days in advance. So, my last payment was sent end of December and once again they processed it after the due date (Jan. 10th). I have always mailed my payments to companies on time and have never dealt with such a lame company in my life. It makes me think they are intentionally trying to charge late fees and end up changing the interest rate on their 0% interest deal for 24 months. I paid that account off and promise to never deal with Gardner White again, I will make sure my friends know about my experience as well. BTW Their furniture is crap, too.
I would give no stars if possible. I just moved to Michigan and needed a mattress. Gardner White was having a sale on Serta mattresses, so I went in. First they tried a bait and switch on me, showing me a terrible mattress that was not the one I asked for and then trying to convince me to purchase a $350 mattress. Then, when I finally told her I didn't believe the mattress was the one I requested, she finally said 'Oh, you're right! This isn't the Serta mattress that was on sale' and proceeded to lead me to the correct mattress. I asked if it was in stock. She said yes. I purchased it and paid $80 to have it delivered the following Tuesday (I purchased on Friday). Tuesday I received no phone call about my delivery.
I finally called the store and they said they were out of stock and wouldn't be delivering today. They said they were estimating for Thursday, but it wasn't guaranteed. I spoke to the manager, who was completely rude and refused to remedy the situation. I spoke to the corportate office, who was also rude and refused to remedy the situation. I finally told them to refund my money because it was clear at that point that they were holding onto my money and expected me to pay $80 to wait around for them to deliver my mattress at their convenience.
Stay away from this horrible company! Do not go there even if they have a fantastic sale going on...you'll only regret it later!
