Mat-Su Transit, also known as MASCOT, is a private, nonprofit corporation that offers a range of transportation services. It operates various local and commuter-fixed routes throughout Alaska, as well as offers paratransit solutions. Established in 1999, the corporation works in coordination with government and human services agencies. It maintains a fleet of buses that can accommodate nearly 15 passengers. The corporation also operates wheelchair-equipped vehicles, as well as provides transportation solutions for schools, detention centers and medical facilities. Its clients include Medicaid, MAT/SU Recovery Center and Job Corporation. Mat-Su Transit conducts over 70,000 trips annually. In addition, the corporation offers daily and monthly travel passes.
