This place had the absolute worst customer service. It was over priced. The server gave my friends and I over priced drinks that were half full. I just walked away out of sheer shock that the bartender said $15.
Good food at very reasonable prices. If you have been to Germany you must try their Specialties
So I’ve never written a bad review but I need to share the unprecedented [awful] experience I just had at Loco Hombre/Alonso’s. For the past three years, my sisters, female cousins, and grandma have gone to this restaurant after enjoying the lights in Hampden. Aside from an inedible brownie last year, we’ve never had issues. This time however, the food and customer service were equally atrocious. Out of 7 adult orders, ONLY 1 WAS EDIBLE. I’ve never in my life sent a dish back to the kitchen but my vegetable burrito came out with chicken, which I clearly did not order. When it was fixed, the rice was OVERCOOKED and the vegetables UNDERCOOKED. I’ve also never left a dish unfinished or left a restaurant without a to-go container but I ate less than half before giving up. IT WAS JUST THAT BAD. Both of my sisters ordered mussels that were raw and undercooked. My cousin’s burger, which was ordered medium came out pink and bloody, while my 86-year old grandmother also ordered a medium burger and was given a hockey puck. We’ve all had bad restaurant experiences and they are easily fixed with good customer service. Their managerial staff is absolutely UNPROFESSIONAL and their conduct was UNACCEPTABLE. We had “Cat,” a passive aggressive hipster, and Denise, an argumentative leggings-wearer. Our party was filled with current and former waitresses so we were polite in voicing our complaints, and just wanted to be compensated for our dissatisfaction. Upon hearing our complaints, the managers [who traveled in pairs] ARGUED WITH US and defended the kitchen. Cat walked away from our conversation and threw her arms in the air. Completely unprofessional. Denise condescendingly argued with us on the quality of the mussels and burgers and ONLY OFFERED TO TAKE HALF THE PRICE OFF of my grandma’s burger. It is absolutely not right to nickel and dime an 86 year old woman, so we asked if she could take the full price off of our check. In response, Denise said she “tested it and found the inside to be soft” and that “a good portion of it was eaten.” As in maybe three bites. Needless to say, they have lost the business of my family and anyone else we can warn against this restaurant. All we took away from Loco Hombre was a $142 bill, empty stomachs, and impending diarrhea.
Surprised by Pazo- we love tapas and thought nothing could measure up to our beloved Amada in Philadelphia. Pazo comes close- fantastic meat and cheese plate, lots of seasonal menu items (zucchini and squash were big on our last visit) and a pretty spectacular wine list. We loved the arroz bomba, which was a perfect paella chock full of lobster and shellfish. The decor is a little on the cheesy side- I could do without wrought iron suns and a giant fresco on the wall, but the service is fantastic and the food won't disappoint.
Took my girlfriend there on a Sunday afternoon, live music, and food was great. Spinach crab dip was fantastic, she loved th place.
