Bait & Switch Practices! Never again will I use Pancake Towing Services. I needed a tow for my 1981 Corvette, called Pancake, which I used in the past with no issues, was very explicit that I needed a flatbed because of the Corvette body style, was quoted $85.00 for the hook up, $4.00 a mile and a fee of $7.00 for using my credit card, which was also a gross over charge, but that is not the issue. When I went back over the quote with whom I came to find out is the mother, was requoted the same prices. When the car was dropped off at the garage, the new price was $100.00 for the hook up. When the driver, who by the way did a great job, called in for the total, the price was jacked up $15.00. When I got on the phone with her, which got confrontational, she was very confident that she told me that "Since the car is a 1981 Corvette, the cost is $15.00 more for hook up." This was never discussed and took me by great surprise. Little does she know that I recorded the phone call from my cell and have played it back 3 times, never a mention of an additional $15.00 because the car is a Corvette, how does that change the price any how? Not sure how I am pursuing but figured this was a good place to start.
