This place is a really nice one for carnivores. The ambiance is very high class and it got a really old school steakhouse vibe mixed with modern luxury. The service was pretty laid back despite the level of people around us frequenting the restaurant. We had the ceasarsallad followed by a new york strip and a file with peppercorn sauce. It was 2 of the best and most tender cuts of beef we ever have tasted and we have been to a lot of great places in the U.S and europe. And YES the war butter cake is a must and AMAZING. This coming from a couple who doesnt like desserts.......Its enough to share. Prices are high. With one bottle of medium priced one our bill came to 250 $. This was without any pre-dinner cocktails. So its expensive but if you can afford it. Why not?
Restaurant ranges from loud to very loud. If you are into high energy, this is the spot. A Washington Classic with cool caricatures on the wall. A bit pricey, nice wine list, menu is standard steakhouse with great salads and sides. Cool and snobby in a 'who's your daddy?' kind of way.
A short walk from the metro. Awsome steaks and service. Exceptional veggie sides. Unique atmosphere. Stacks of wine cases adorn the isles. Mouth watering steaks. Absolutely worth the trip. The Capital Grille is my favorite, but I give Sam & Harry's a 5 stars too. 5 visits, 5 great meals. Highly recommend this place!
1st class dining here, often has 3 piece band with baby grand piano. Jackets & ties required. ( I never dine in DC without). Exceptional beef and service. A memorable dining experience.
