Since 1875, the Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association has been one of the most recognized maritime labor unions for the officers of the United States Merchant Marine. With thousands of marine engine and deck officers, the members of the Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association are some of the most experienced individuals in maritime training. Its member s crew technologically advanced ships in the United States flag fleet, which includes cruise ships, tankers, vessels on the Great Lakes and container ships. Marine Engineers' Beneficial Association members also sail aboard government-contracted ships of the U.S. Navy s Military Sealift Command and the Maritime Administration s Ready Reserve Force.
