Prior to joining MSM&C, Mr. Michaels’ expertise includes both buy and sell side M&A representation, debt and equity financing, economic value added (EVA) analysis, business valuations, due diligence services, product and service cost analysis, and business tax planning. Additionally, he has testified as an expert witness on financial matters pertaining to fraud and asset valuations. He has consulted clients such as the Gannett Company and PepsiCo International on matters ranging from EVA analysis to shared services strategies and implementation. Internationally, Mr. Michaels worked with PepsiCo International in Central and Eastern Europe. As an advisor to the company’s World Trade and New Business Development division, Mr. Michaels conducted a study to determine the feasibility of building and operating a joint venture bottling plant in the Central Asian market of Almaty, Kazakhstan. He marketed and negotiated this joint venture to high net worth investors throughout Europe and the Middle East.

He is the author of numerous articles, monographs, and books on these topics, has organized special panel sessions in conferences, lectured extensively on restructuring and risk management, and served as a member of the program committees for several professional finance associations. His research has appeared in professional and academic journals including the Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Financial Management, Financial Review, Journal of Financial Research, Journal of Portfolio Management and Journal of International Business Studies. Dean Tsetsekos is also the author of two books: Research Methods in Finance (1993) and Emerging Market Portfolios: Diversification and Hedging (1997). He is President-elect of the Multinational Finance Society.
