The vibe at JoJo was very chill and the atmosphere was cool and laid back. It was just what my girls and I needed to end the long work week. The strawberry margaritas ordered at my table were reportedly *very* strong, but enjoyed by all. The calamari appetizer was nothing extraordinary, but served its purpose; the buffalo wings were served hot and fresh! The downstairs portion of the restaurant is pretty tight and definitely not for the claustrophobic. Because it is small, be prepared for the live jazz band to dominate your ear drums…you WILL have to yell at the people you’re dining with in order to carry on a conversation. I could tell there were a lot of regulars at the bar and a few small groups that felt right at home. Overall, everyone seemed to be enjoying themselves and having a good time. And that included my party…until we ordered our entrees that NEVER came! We placed our order and waited approximately 30 minutes without so much as an acknowledgment from the server. Since it was a Friday night, the restaurant was full, and one of my friends ordered a steak cooked medium well, we gave them the benefit of the doubt and patiently awaited the arrival of our food. After many minutes passed with no sign of our food, we flagged the server down to inquire about the status of our order. She assured us that it was coming out shortly. But after we insisted that she check on it, she learned that the printer in the kitchen had jammed. Even though she put our order in, the kitchen had no record of it and hadn’t even STARTED preparing it after 30 minutes of waiting. This was very disappointing since one of my friends had to leave for another engagement and didn’t have time to wait even longer for the kitchen to prepare her meal. My other friend and I decided to wait it out since we were already there, starving, and didn’t have enough energy to walk to another place and start the process all over again. So we RE-placed our order and waited even longer for it to come out. I wish I could say that it was worth the wait, but it wasn’t. The crab cakes looked like meatballs and taste like salmon cakes. There was a lot of breading, but no crab in sight. The Mahi Mahi was also a little underwhelming, tasting more like catfish than any Mahi Mahi I’d ever had before. The evening started out good, but unfortunately, the latter part of the evening overshadowed what otherwise would have been a great dining experience. We were offered free dessert for our trouble, but that did no good to my friend who had to leave before she even got her entrée. Bottom line: Go for the jazz and the atmosphere, not for the food or the service. And MAKE SURE that you have your server double-check that the order was received by the kitchen. Had we not made her check on our order, we could have been sitting there all night.
Went here Saturday night with my boyfriend's siblings and significant others. It was a party of 7 and we were seated right away. Drink orders were …

The food here is solid. Reasonably priced, professionally staffed. Nothing that will wow you but you are unlikely to be disappointed. A Washington classic and well run part of the Clyde's Restaurant Group. Clearly a favorite of Hill staffers. The interior décor is one of a kind and I highly recommend this place to a visitor who may only be here a short time.
I've come to this restaurant at least once a year for 5 years. Generally I have lost bed the food, service and atmosphere. Today I was VERY disappointed. Good was ok but for the cost should have been better. There vice was horrible. The waitress never came back to table after taking our order. So sad. I wanted to give a great review!
A Dive, not thug but older players. More of a drinking spot. I thought the crowd was blue collar but friendly, not pretentious. Caters to local predominately African American older crowd. Serves drinks in two parts as a shot in a glass and you add your mixer yourself. They serve and are known for chicken wings.
Food was fantastic, & the service was nice. Carmel corn appetizer is a must! or their avocado hummus. 3/7 got their gnocchi, and LOVED it. Their ribs were good as well. Interesting flavor combinations, made the food an experience! Compliments to the chef for sure!!!
These reviews are hogwash. The food here is absolutely awful as is the service. If you want a romantic spot for a coffee and dessert then this place works but if you want to eat an actual meal you are better served by Bistrot du Coin.
This is a unique little breakfast place, with lots of character, and full of locals and rousted alike. I thought the food was just average, but the rest of my family loved the waffles and pancakes. Convenient location
World class service and don't forget the food. Excellent. The place is nice and clean and of course friendly atmosphere. This place is on my Best places to est list.Thank you for your exquisite menu!
Charming and unexpected. Friendly bartenders and a great wine menu. Seems more partial to local foodies. Reasonably priced adventurous menu. I drop in now and again and I've not been disappointed.
Good place to spend a lazy afternoon listening to some great music. The food is good especially the Mexican burger with fries. I had a good 2 hrs lunch with family and very chilled out place.
