if you want to be hung up on, waiting a month and a half for a diagnostic on your television, waiting all day for someone to come in for five minutes on numerous occasions and keep on saying there seems to be something wrong every time, then this is definitely the place for you. if you're looking to get something done without frustrations or feeling like you just wasted your money, don't go. im just a disappointed customer who got fed up.
Elwin AKA Pinnacle Service Solutions Group sends repairs to Massacusetts. So I drop a microwave off at their temporary location near the airport on July 8th (their location off Jefferson Blvd that they own got flooded and as of July they still had not repaired the building) and they just ordered the parts for the unit on July 19th. When I asked why it to took 11 days to order the parts they said that it took that much time to get the unit to Massachusetts. I am looking at at least another 9 days from today, July 26th, before I see the unit back in RI. I should never have dropped it off with these clowns. STAY AWAY! They should have taken the insurance money from the flood and quit while they were ahead.

I purchased a Polaroid 46"" tv from Wal-mart and got the 2 yr sevice contract. I started having problems so called for service. The kid who came out took my tv a part and since then I have had even more problems. No one ever contacted me for status updates. When I call them the phone rings forever, they put you on hold and I have been disconnected a few times. It has been a month now. After complaining to wal-mart about how long it is taking someone at elwin actually told me that it was taking long because the owner was out of the country and he had my paper work!!!! Still have a broken tv and missing football. I put in another complaint to wal-mart who will hopefully get rid of this company.
well came out july to assess tv left it here never called me to schedule pick up i called them they lied and said we are coming to pick up tomorrow we left you a message which they did not, was now 2 weeks after intial check of tv then they took it out of my home where it sat in their shop for 6 weeks with no phone call to me and no tv then i call daily they say tv parts on order nothin we can do so after 2 more weeks warranty co. calls me to say tv will not be fixed uneconomical so they send me a check for basically what i paid ,then buy new tv finally go to hang it on old stand guess what techs took all my brackets that were to the stand but attached to the previous tv so been a rat race alot of aggravation still cannot hang tv because elwin will not track tv down to disassemble like they should have the day they came i will NEVER use this comp again no matter what i am the customer and i dont appreciate being lied to plus i found out through all this they balloon up the parts price to warranty co thats why my original 42 inch plasma by phillips was not fixed however still has brackets which i cant reorder because sears doesnt sell neymore still attached to the back of it thanks for nothing

We purchased a 47 inch Oliveia Flat screen 1080p HDTV w/ the extra warranty November 2007 from BJ's. The TV started to act up about Jan 2009 right after the manufacturer warranty was up. The TV on/off switch wouldn't work and when we could get the TV on, the screen would freeze at times causing you to have to shut it off, hope it turned back on again and start all over. We called the warranty company who set us up with Elwin TV for possible repair or replacement. They stated over the phone that it sounded like something they wouldn't be able to fix but they would discuss it with the warranty company and get right back to us. 3 weeks later and several phone calls (from us to them) later, we were told a tech would be out to our home evaluate it in person. We took a day away from work (waited from 12noon-4pm) and the tech came out, at 3:30pm and told us the exact same thing, he didn't think they could order the parts but he would discuss it with the warranty co. and get ""right back"" to us. 3 weeks and several phone calls (from us to them) later, we are told another tech would be out to pick it up so they could evaluate it ""in the shop"". No promises that it would be fixable, but they would have a tech ""take as look"" . AGAIN, we took a day off from work and waited around for them. We even called early in the morning and were told by the dispatcher that we were second on the list for pick up, so probably by 1pm ( we were to wait for pick up between12noon & 4pm). At 10 minutes to 4pm, the tech picked up the TV. SIX weeks later, after several phone calls we are AGAIN told that they are having a tech ""LOOK AT WHAT PARTS MIGHT NEED TO BE ORDERED"" with no promises that it is indeed fixable THEN they will submit THAT techs findings to the warranty company for follow up. Now, we have gone from January to JULY without a TV and we are STILL getting the run around. Elwin blames the warranty company, yet cannot provide me with a Representative that they have been in contact with (name/number) so we could call and get to the bottom of it ourselves. Might I add, the phone reps are rude , condescending and make you feel like you just pulled them away from something way more important than your phone call. We TOTALLY feel like because we had a warranty and weren't paying out of pocket for services rendered we were given the full run around by Elwin and are STILL waiting for the return or demise of our TV now, the 3rd week in July. I am sure when they return it, fixed or broken we will have the pleasure of taking ANOTHER day off from work and waiting & wasting the day in our home for them to come 12-4pm. I will be sending a copy of the details to BJ's customer service and would NEVER recommend use of them by choice!

I have a 65"" Mitsubishi that stopped working . Called Elwin Electronics, the girl in service told me there would be $145.00 charge for them to come out to the house to look at the television. If I chose to have them repair it, the $145.00 would be absorbed into the repair fee. They were in my home for just shy of an hour. The total parts cost was $27.80, the total labor charge was $310.00, for a total of $339.74. When I called to question the $310.00, I was told that was the price for a 65"". They were up front about the $145.00 but never mentioned that because they would be working on a 65"" that the labor cost would be $310.00. A supervisor was suppose to get back to me, which she did not. I did call again and ask to speak to a supervisor, I spoke with Fran. I was told that $310.00 is the charge for the repair and that before it was fixed and they told us the price we could have declined having the repair done and just paid the $145.00 for the home visit. That would have been pretty stupid on my part to pay $145.00 for them to look at it but then not have it repaired. I own a 08 vehicle and have never paid $300.00 for an hour of labor, I have one of the best attorney's in the state on retainer for my business and don't pay him $300.00 for an hour of his time. In our business, we have 3 men show up on a job with over a quarter of a millon dollars in equipment and we don't pay them $300.00 for an hours worth of work. I feel the cost of labor for this repair was outrageous and Elwin Electronics should be ashamed of themselves for being so greedy. I will report this to a higher authority, which our business is a member of and will tell everyone I know, not to call Elwin Electronics for service.

I never worked for them, so I have no ax to grind with them... I have had 3 items that I had to take to them, over the past 15 years, and 3 bad experiences...
1. Took a car stereo to get repaired, long story short, I NEVER got it back!
2. Took a surrround sound receiver to be repaired, over a YEAR later it comes back still not working right!!!
3. Took a TV to them, they lied to me several times on repair times, when I finally got it, it had a huge yellow line across the picture, I took the set apart, they did not bother to clean the back mirror, which caused this yellow line...
They are still there because there is really not too many other choices.. my last 2 were warrenty repairs so I had no choice but to use them.. but I would rather ship my TV and pay the costs to have someone else look at it, rather then these liars.

I have had a television being repaired for 3 months now and I have paid $550 in advance in full and it is still not fixed. The communication is non-existent and a manager or owner is never available to speak to. Their customer service is also horrible, they do not call you although they say that they will call you in 3 days. Months go by and they don't update anything. When you do call them they have to check with the technician and he is never available. You would be better off with another company!!!!!!!!!!

Gosh. I wonder if those two reviews down below came from Elwin employees, or maybe the owner himself. It's so transparent, Ray Charles could see it. NEWS FLASH: Any company that has to pad its own review section in an online forum is spending too much time worrying about reviews and not enough time taking care of customers. In this case, it looks like Elwin expends NO TIME taking care of customers. Use them at your peril!

I've learned not to blindly follow reviews. I saw terrible reviews of Elwin on the web after Circuit City said they would send Elwin to fix my Sony projection TV. So I phoned Circuit City back and they swore Elwin was great despite the web reviews. So I took a chance -- and Elwin turned out to be terrific! They came the very next day, as scheduled. Very polite and savvy tech. He'd checked the symptoms before he came, and so he arrived with a range of Sony parts. Result, in one 20-minute visit, he fixed the problem. I couldn't be more pleased with Elwin -- great service.

I have been associated with Elwin over 20 years and have had many items serviced going back to the original owner. Call any major brand HQ or any local store and I can assure you that Elwin will probably be the first choice. I have been to their shop for repairs and they swell of professionalism. This is not your mom/pop shop. Their guarantee is longer than most manufacturer new items. maybe these other reviews have other issues and the guy that used to work there....I wouldn't want him working for me either!!!

Service man came out the next business day. Told me that it could be one of four problems, but could not do it in house. Told me it would cost 120.00 to pick up the television.That would be 240.00 and nothing done.Also labor then parts would mean a brand new LCD t.v.. I would not send my worst enemy to this place.
I was just recently terminated from elwin tv for telling customer's the truth. Customers would call in and ask why a repair man diden't show up or why there unit is taking so long to fix and instead of lieing to them like the managers instructed me to do i would tell them the truth which is a big no no at elwin. Instead of telling the truth they would have me and other call repes make up these cockameme reason's why we diden't show up for ex.. a technician called out or died or there finger was chopped off. and when it comes to the parts you need please don't even get me started they mark up every part that they get at least 30% and when a tech tells you he is going to order a part for you that day you are lucky if it even gets ordered in the same week. In closing i would not recomend anyone using there service or working for them they are nothing but phoney's ,

gave them my model # so they could order the parts. They called back, as they had written # incorrectly and needed me to call again with #. I returned call same day and spoke with woman who said that their system was down, but that she was taking down # and would make note of it in computer as soon as back up and running. This was almost 2 weeks ago and my service appt is scheduled for day after tomorrow. Get call from them this am that they never got the # and that the parts were not ordered. I gave them the # AGAIN, and now I have to wait 4-5 business days for parts and new service appt.!!!
This all after getting HORRIBLE service from Maytag corp. in the first place that took 1 week just to tell me who in my area could sevice my washer with its warranty.
we will see when it actually gets fixed...

Fast initial service. Was told 5 days for estimate by repair man. Then calling daily, after five days, I was told it takes 10 for an estimate. After another 7 days, I had to call, the cost of repair was same as cost of television. I had already paid initial cost for repair estimate, $150, so I said go ahead. I was told 1 week for the repair. One week later, I had to call , the parts were not in stock and they would be there in 2 days. 5 days later I called again and was told parts were on back order, and they dont know how long it will take. 26 days of wrong information and 150 dollars spent on nothing. Buy a new T.V. and if that is not an option go anywhere else, not elwin electronics!
