Oral hygiene is as important for your pet as it is for you. A dental exam is included with every physical exam. When the time comes that your pet’s teeth need to have a professional cleaning, we are able to do this with ultrasonic scaling followed by polishing. Though we must sometimes extract teeth that have root damage, we are often able to save teeth, with implantation of slow release antibiotics around the infected tooth roots.
Vaccination
Yes, we require the following vaccinations to be current. You must provide records upon check-in or an exam with necessary vaccinations will be given during their stay and charged to their account.

“Jake and Tiga have been attending Lake City Animal Health & Wellness Center for several years. Last year, Jake had an ear infection that lasted for months. When Dr. Carlton treated Jake we experienced her ‘caring way’. She really listened to what we had to say, contacted other colleagues for suggestions and provided us with printed material. That is going the ‘extra mile’.”

If the test comes back negative then once monthly medication is given to prevent infection. Medications available on the market are PREVENTATIVE: they do not treat the existence of heartworm.
