Your Complete Model Shop

Business History
Prop Shop Hobbies, Inc. was established by founder Thomas J. Brubaker, Sr. October 23, 1975. His goal was to provide modelers with all they needed for their radio control hobby. He was known as the "parts guy" throughout the Metro Detroit area. If you needed a part Tom had it or would order it up and keep an exra on hand "just in case". As the R/C hobby grew so did Prop Shop Hobbies. Outgrowing its original store, Prop Shop moved up the street In November of 1985 to a larger store. Tom was the first in the area to completely computerize his large inventory. Prop Shop Hobbies is well known throughout the United States by reputation of having just about everything you need for radio control. Our large and diverse inventory is the envy of many. Tom died in June of 2005. Since that time his son Matt has carried on the traditions Tom established for Prop Shop Hobbies.

The very best !

This is an absolutey wonderful local hobby shop. The Prop Shop has weathered the storms and remains the premier hobby shop for anyone in the TriCounty , Greater Detroit area . A full lineup of hobby equipment and stellar over the counter service. They are quite fair in every way.
I have been shopping at this store since 1982 and have never had a bad experience . All of the local RC clubs are regulars here so there are plenty of resources to draw from. A very rare type of store today, we are lucky to have this hobbyshop nearby.

Only shop in town for me!

I shop at Prop Shop all the time. I have never had trouble with returns. The have the largest supply of replacement parts for engines, airbrushes, r/c cars, and helis I've ever seen. If you need to fix something this is the place to go!!

Return policy sucks

I received a couple things as a gift and did not have a receipt. The items were unused and unopend and had THEIR prices stickers on them. They would not even issue a store credit to be used that same visit. Will Never shop there again. If you do SAVE YOUR RECEIPT!

Return policy - careful

Received some items as a gift and tried to return. I did not have a receipt. The items were unused and unopened and had THEIR intact price stickers on them. They would not issue a store credit. Will never shop there again!

Great Family Owned Shop

Very well stocked and good prices. Excellent rc plane, heli, boat and cars. Also has Models, stotcars and parts galore!!!! This is an Old-Time hobby shop with almost everything. Not a "gaming/rpg/coin" shop like so many others. If your into RC, This is the place to go in South East Michigan. Owner is very knowledgable. Large amount of traffic, but that is a testiment to a great store. Help isn't as knowledgable, but don't be in a hurry and all questions will be answered by owner if needed. Large selection of planes, electric and gas, also heli's. Some boats and quite a few cars as well. This isn't an "Old Timers" hang-out were the newbie can't get servred !! If you happen to see the old guys talking, don't be afraid to ask for help. Owner will take care of you. This is one place that know the young people have money to spend and are willing to acomodate. This place is for everybody. Newbie to old timer, don't matter. O.K to come in and look around and not have someone follow you around always asking if you need anything, unless you need help. I've been there about 100 times and also find most of the customers will also be eager to answer questions if you ask. Simply put, I Love This Place!!!!! Good people here!!!! Also has nice "FEEL" to the place.
