At the Cantrell Wellness Center, we combine the expertise of our exercise physiologists and clinical staff, and the comprehensive knowledge of your family doctor to create a uniquely personal fitness program for each of our members. What sets the Cantrell Center’s Wellness Program from your average gym is that our wellness program requires clearance from your family physician and a wellness consultation. This unique approach to wellness integrates your personal fitness goals, the expertise of exercise physiologists or “trainers,” and the comprehensive knowledge of your family doctor… a formula that can only result in a healthier YOU and a healthier community. When you sign up for the Cantrell Center Wellness Program, you will enjoy: (1) A personalized fitness plan suited to your fitness level and medical condition; (2) Complete workout, weightlifting and aquatic facilities; (3) Ongoing medical monitoring appropriate to any specific diagnosis that you may have; (4) Continuous guidance, “get you going” motivation, and the opportunity to get your questions answered by a Cantrell Center exercise physiologist or certified instructor. Aquatic Program: Jump in! The water is perfect! There is nothing like taking a swim in the middle of winter, and now you can. The Cantrell Center offers water aerobics and individual lap swim in our 4 foot deep, heated, indoor junior Olympic size pool all year round. Our programs include water aerobics classes led by qualified instructors, water walking classes that are perfect for taking control of your arthritis or easing back into a fitness routine, and Arthritis Foundation Aquatics Classes led by highly trained and certified instructors. We also allot specific times for individual lap swimming and walking. Our top-rated water aerobics classes use the water to both create resistance and “cushion” the impact, making this the ideal fitness choice for many. Land Program: Whether you have recently completed rehab with a total knee replacement or you are training for a Triathlon, our exercise physiologists and personal trainers will custom-design an exercise program suited to your fitness level and/or medical condition. We will also monitor your progress and goals every two months to guarantee the best results. Our state-of-the-art gym offers free weights, machine weights and cardio equipment and our trainers are highly qualified to meet your personal goals. We also offer a number of classes and programs to keep you in peak physical condition all year long. Personal Training: Our expert trainers, certified by the American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) or National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), have a wealth of knowledge and experience. Personal Training consists of one-on-one sessions with one of our expert trainers. The Personal Trainers here at the Cantrell Wellness Center can take your workout to the next level with their helpful tips, correction of form, and motivation to push through to your optimum level of exercising. Whether you prefer to attend group fitness classes, train one-on-one with a Personal Trainer, or work out on your own in the pool or on land, you’ll find it all at the Cantrell Wellness Center!
