Goodwill in Wappingers Falls is, as others have the same opinion, PRICES THAT ARE DOWNRIGHT OUTRAGEOUS!!!!! I totally agree w/ the other reviews..... they r totally taking advantage of what Goodwill says they base their principles and moral foundation on ..... I can't believe especially, the silver Jewlery for instance..... at the pawn shop in wapp next to NUTZ By Khols. They are giving a" penny's weight" of silver for 50 cents. So Goodwill charging $39.99 for a slim silver plain bangle that weighs approx 5 pennies is ok?? They r totally monopolizing the thrift shop marketplace in that area. Simply because they CAN .... they don't really care about helping others in need of clothes to get a job ect. I mean really. $10.99 for a used , pilled pair of women's slacks is nuts. They should be $3.99 for slacks. Reasonable !!! Not redeculious!!!! And , like the reviewer above me was complaining about his belief on workers who are clearly getting "first dibs" on incoming items and are probably seeing things of value and where do u think MANY of those items end up ???? In the trunks of the workers car ...... I know this firsthand because I overheard a conversation from one sales clerk to another and the conversation consisted of how many "countless pairs of high end jeans, like 7 for all mankind and citizens of humanity jeans they've swiped and sold on eBay for themselves" So people with kind hearts who have more than us, donate some high end luxury items, which most of us could not afford otherwise, and the workers ( many of who are court mandated, by the way , as punishment and made to do community service- are taking these items and selling them in ebay or other sites to make a profit!!, I looked through the jeans rack the last 5 times I've been there ......,,,and NIT ONE pair of high end brand jeans ... express were the highest brand I saw. Never used to be that way. Someone. Anyone. Are u hearing us!???? Something needs to change !!!!!!!
Prices are too high. Some examples:There was a used blanket that had the TARGET tag and price on it. Goodwill's price was the same price as Target's sale price for the same item. How does Goodwill justify pricing this 2nd hand item at the same price as if I went into Target and bought it new? The store also had dollar store items missing pieces priced 3x higher than the original dollar store price.
I also agree that the prices at this Goodwill in Wappingers Falls, are to high on many items . I shop here at least 2-3 times a week and one thing I also notice that out of all the book this store here has, you can never find a school or college textbook or any kind of educational textbook among their thousands of books. As if a work is taken themselves and not placing them on the shelfs. Textbooks sells for a lot of money , of course , and I believe someone is taken them once there are donated. I have never seen a textbook or education book at this location and I am very sure that people are donating them. I shop at other goodwills in NY and see textbooks all the time , but never in the Wappingers Falls GoodWill
