We broke down, at 5 am, on our way to Florida. When AAA FINALLY found us, I had them take us to master tech. Within an hour, we knew that the car was toast. Fred (the counter person), immediately began helping us find another solution, so our vacation could continue. She also helped me figure out how to get my car back to New York. When I was able to finally secure a rental car, she drove me there! In the midst of craziness, when I was crying, because I thought we were going to have to go home, rather than seeing our little sisters, she came around the counter and hugged me. That hug made me pull up my boot straps and make it happen. Fred, you are an amazing person! So caring and professional! Thanks for everything! You made our vacation continue, against all odds! From the bottom of our 6 sibling hearts, thank you!! You didn't know our story, and you've become apart of it. Liz, Michael, Maria, Harvey, Ana and Bella

My fiance and I were travelling from North Carolina to Florida on Thursday September 10th for our wedding that Saturday when our Jeep decided to overheat on I-95. We were left stranded on the side of the road with our two dogs, but luckily got our vehicle towed to Master Tech. I work as a receptionist at a Automotive Service and Body shop so I understand how tough it can be to squeeze in a vehicle that wasn't on the schedule for the day but they did just that. Not only did they diagnose the vehicle within an hours worth of time, they were able to order the parts we needed and get it fixed all within a few hours and not charge us an arm and a leg for the repair. We were able to get back on the road, behind schedule but with the sure confidence about the work done that we would make it down to Florida and back to North Carolina without another breakdown. It was a really hot day and not only did they welcome and accommodate my whole family in the waiting area but also our two dogs. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you made what could have been a terrible start to our wedding weekend just a bump in the road.
After cruising down the Blue Ridge Parkway and on our way the to the Carolina coast we started hearing strange noises from our 1967 Sunbeam Tiger. Upon recommendations I took my car to Master Tech in Walterboro, SC. The Staff there listened to the car and in minutes diagnosed the problem. The garage had parts on hand and I was soon happily on my way to the beach. Thank you Brook and La Donna! I highly recommend this shop for anyone needing professional repairs in this area!
Traveling from New York State to Florida, my Nissan Rogue broke down on I95 in Walterboro, SC. I first inquired with the nearest garage/dealer I saw so I went to a Ford dealership who recommended I take my car to Master-Tech. Fred at Master-Tech took the car in right away, inspected and diagnosed the problem, and gave me an accurate estimate of what would need to be done. I needed a brand new transmission so I rented a car and went to Florida and Master-Tech kept in touch with me while I was away. I traveled back to SC from Florida where I picked up my Rogue with its brand new transmission and it ran beautifully all the way home. I highly recommend Master-Tech because they do excellent work and they're trustworthy and honest.
Mastertech made my old Celica ride like a luxury Cadillac. 10 stars guys, really thanks-a-million
When my vehicle broke down on friday, me being out of town had no clue where to go. The tow truck driver recommended master tech. Let me just say i'm VERY thankful i agreed to go there. When i arrived the service advisor niki(who was EXTREMLY busy) greeted me and explained that she would help me asap. Which she did. She listened to my concern and took her time explaining their procedures. The tech came and inspected my car. The parts wouldnt be in until monday . ( it was right at 6 p.m.) let me just say that niki is heaven sent. Not only did she find me a place to stay but made sure i got there since they where going to keep my car for repairs. Even though she had so much going on she treated me as though i was her only customer. I was VERY impressed that she knew and could handle her job so well. Her and the techs are an awesome group of people. i would recommend this place to ANYONE! It's good to know that there are good honest down to earth people that still exsist. I was upset when i got there and before i left niki worked her magic and made my "breakdown" alot more peaceful and understanding.
Four hours from home on the Sunday before Memorial Day, the rear end in our truck starting going out. With our camper in tow we pulled off on Exit 53 and began the search for a mechanic. I called every mechanic in Walterboro and the ONLY person to answer was Fred at Master-tech. She said she would call me back the next morning (we found a camp ground 1 mile away to stay the night). Fred called me back, made arrangements to get our truck to their shop (Good SAMs arranged to tow) and she found us a rental car to get back home, as my husband and I could not miss work. Nicki at master-tech called me Tuesday morning and gave me an estimate with two options. They ordered parts and had our truck ready by the next weekend and made arrangements for us to pick it up on Saturday even though they weren't open. This company was our saving grace. Everyone in the company went above and beyond to ensure we were taken care of and made it as convenient as possible. AND I paid less than the lowest estimate I was initially given. This company is top notch and was a blessing to my family. I can't thank them enough.
Horrible service, rude and slower than dirt. They are not out for anyones best interest except their own. Do not go here we waited days and never even got our car fixed. Tried to sell thousands of dollars worth of parts for a fix that was 100 down the road.
Mastertech Transmission and Complete Auto Repair is awesome. Fred, who will probably be the first to greet you when you arrive, is both really good at her job and really devoted to providing excellent service. Great combination :).We were plain lucky to break down in her neck of the woods. We had both fuel line and electrical problems creating some pretty strange symptoms in my '94 Ranger. Their technicians sorted patiently and meticulously through the issues, bringing out each problem as they uncovered it for us to see. They were quick, professional, and impressively skilled. Our beloved family vehicle couldn't have washed up into better hands. And, though we spent 3 hrs in the office while they worked through everything, it seemed to fly by! They were so welcoming, accommodating, friendly, and engaging! Fred made me feel like a long-lost sister. Even our 7-yr-old was perfectly content the whole time in the familial atmosphere. And in the end, I'm sure I've paid much more for much less service -Mastertech was a deal at twice the price. Finally, after watching them work all afternoon, I can assure you, if Fred ever yells at you, you more than had it coming, you probably need to hear what she has to say, and you should thank her for taking the time out of her busy day to share her valuable perspective.
My '09 Honda Odyssey's alternator went bad on 4/10 as we were cruising down I-95 to FL. Walterboro is a small town and as luck would have it, the part was not available until the next day. Fred provided transportation to and from the hotel and the Master-Tech crew fixed our car as soon as the part arrived. We were back on the road with only a 24 hour delay. I also called my normal repair shop and verified that I was being charged a fair price for the work being done. My shop would not normally charge me a diagnostic fee (1 hr labor) for an obvious problem and major repair like this and that's the only reason why I did not give them 5 stars. You can read the other reviews and judge for yourself, people either love Fred or hate her. Either way, don't blame your bad luck or previous faulty repairs on Master-Tech.
