Northeast Kennels

I brought an older cat (18 yrs old) on short notice to Northeast Kennels. He had six months before been imported from Sardinia. The staff was helpful and patient in figuring out what shots he had that were written in Italian on his passport.



When we brought him in there were other cats, but when we called we were told he was the only guest cat there, which meant that he would get more time to roam the cat room, with the toys and scratching posts, etc.



The staff, instead of getting annoyed, seemed to find Vivaldi's appetite and his habit of calling out for food humerous and commented on it both by phone and when I picked him up.



His stay was just under two weeks, but he seemed happy and content and had even put on some pounds. In fact, he now has a better eating habit and we can leave food out without his eating every ounce of it!



Vivaldi was clean and didn't smell bad when I went to rtetrieve him. So, I am very happy with the place. I used it because it was nearby.

We have been taking our dogs to Northeast Kennels for Day Care daily for 5 years now. Since they are also a full service kennel we feel completely comfortable leaving them for an extended time as well. Since the staff already knows our dogs, their individual personalities and their needs, we don't have any of the worries some pet owners do since it is just another day for them.



Northeast Kennels does not have open play like some kennels do, but they do have spacious runs, our dogs are together in a large suite room. Since one of our dogs can be a bit agressive when he is nervous or scared, we feel much better that they are not with other dogs.



The owner is a great guy who has always tried to accomidate family emergencies or changes in our schedules.



I don't think I would take our treasured (kids) anywhere else. Eventhough it is in the opposit direction of where we work, the extra time and milage is well worth it.
