The first time I came to Merchants the customer service was amazing! I was stressed out trying to find someone to do a wheel alignment early in the morning and once I called here they told me to come as soon as I can. Mr. Steve was so nice & welcoming! Nothing changed the next time I went in (which was tonight at the last minute trying to get an oil change). I wasn’t too sure how bad it was & he didn’t mind helping! I will not be returning to “Mr. Tire” because this is now my favorite auto place in town! Great job!
Bad ServiceHad torque converter installed in my vehicle less then a year ago(2016), kept hearing metal/tapping sounds coming from transfer case or transmission area. Brought to mechanic who installed the torque converter several times and he could not figure it out the noises. Over time, I tried to contact him by telephone or stop by his shop to check vehicle.The telephone voice mail full; he was out doing errands. When I called Independent Auto today, the line was disconnected Eventually the noises intensified in the same area. On the day I had an appointment to go to a different mechanic to check noises out my vehicle transmission would not engage so I had to have it towed in. New Mechanic said that torque converter shattered or broke and sent metal particles into transmission, destroying transmission. It will cost me around 3000.00 to to get it fixed. Bad service , I will never do business with this company or people again. Checking on the INTERNET today, the company is out of business/main number disconnected.1 Reviews
Purchased tires from this franchise store, Admiral Goodyear in Waldorf, MD 12/5/2015. I drove 12,291 miles in that time, my tire treads are now at a five level, 12/30/2016. The manager, Dontae, told me that I had to purchase new tires, that they would not replace them because I did not have road hazard ins. on them. I think they sold me some bad tires, there is no way 65,000 mile tires wear down to half in a year with only a little over 12,000 miles on them. And yes, I keep my care serviced, I only missed one tire rotation, but that still should not put that much wear on the tires. At least offer to replace the two worse tires, or give me half the money that I paid for them back, I would have been happy with that. Heck, just take it as a write off/loss to help the customer, something!!!I get down there just for them to only have one tire in stock to replace, and then tell me I have to come back on Monday. Check your inventory!!! Not just on the computer but physically, it's called customer service, especially if the customer tells you that they are 45 mins. to and hour drive to get there.
This is the worst company. They over charge for services and don't pay their employees. Also the manager is rude to customers and employees.
Unfriendly. Asked about tires that they had online, told me they didn't have them, couldn't get them, and was treated rudely when I asked why.
Awesome service. The manager Leo Curtis is super knowledgable about the service on my vehicle> I highly recommend them the staff is #1 in my book.
DO NOT GO HERE!!!! Would be zero stars if I was able to rate that low! When I called ahead of time to get an estimate for a power steering pump replacement, he would not give it to me and insisted to see the car to make sure that was the problem. All the other shops I called gave me and estimate over the phone. So I asked how much it would be to check the car out and he said nothing. Left the car over night with the shop and the next day I get a phone call that I also need a line replacement, no big deal until he tells me the total price for everything! I drove to the shop to get a cost breakdown, and the two parts that he wanted to replace are 2 to almost 3 times the price of the parts from AutoZone. I asked where the parts were from and was told Carquest, so I asked if I could just get my own parts and pay them for labor. I was told I would be charged extra for that, and then the manager/owner stated "how would you like it if I went into your bank account and took half of your money away?" How can a shop that has morals, request to charge $125 for a power steering pump and $58 for the line, when the parts are $45 and $19 at AutoZone and $60 and $30 at Carquest where the parts were that they wanted to buy were coming from???? That's double what they were going to pay for the parts!!!! Then I wanted my car back to take it somewhere else, and he wanted to originally charge me $108 for looking at the car, over an hour of labor. When I questioned how much time was spent looking at the car, he said 30 minutes. Do not believe the other reviews online for this repair shop, they are all fake!!! Go down the street to one of the other dozen shops. I paid less than half of what McGhee's wanted at another shop and the work was completed quicker than it took McGhee's to even look at my car! I will NEVER take my car to this shop again, even if everyone else is closed, I would rather walk!!! AVOID THIS SHOP!!!!
This Midas facility utilizes the classic bait and switch scheme , give you a low estimate and then jack up the price once the work begins I bought my 2000 Rodeo into their facility needing an axle repaired, they immediately gave me what thought was fair price for repairs which at the time I was told included parts and labor. However just like clock work they called the next day and now I was told the labor cost would now increase the cost from $231 to over $500. I plan on avoiding this facility in the future and making sure my friends and relatives know about their unscrupulous business practices.
I went there because I blew out a tire and needed an oil change. I have a newer 2012 Cruze with all the computer quirks, (Tire Monitoring, etc.) They could have easily charged me for a new tire, reset all the computer sensors, tire disposal, etc. Instead, they gave the option of trying to plug the tire first to save money. It was a pretty big hole and they were not optimistic about a plug working but they did it anyways. Not only that all their bays were full and instead of having me wait for hours for the work they got me right in. Fixed the tire, (the plug did work) balanced it for free, did the oil change, reset all computers for free and I was in and out within an hour. The quality of the work was top notch and the friendly service was welcomed. The integrity of the work is also impressive. I have been taking my old cars here for years and they have always treated me well. Like a family member. But now I will take my new car here as well. No more paying dealer prices for sub quality work. Bushey's will be the only mechanics to touch any of my cars! Thanks guys!
Great service at a great price. There were many things about this body shop that stood out to me as I was getting my repair. 1. I saved $250 here compared to another quote from another local body shop for a bumper repair. 2. The estimate was free! Many of the other places I called said I would have to pay $10 or $20 for an estimate. 3. The service was very friendly and the repair was handled in a timely fashion. 4. They were very detailed in everything, from the inspection, to the actual work, to showing me the completed job and receipts. I was highly satisfied with the attention they paid to my car. 5. When I picked up my car after the new bumper had been installed, they had unexpectedly washed my car, both inside and out for free!If I ever need another repair I will definitely go back to these guys.
