General Info

The Visalia Rescue Mission is a local non-profit organization.  We serve the local community by providing a homeless shelter for men, women and children; we sleep on average 120 people each night and serve three meals a day; 365 days a year.  We are currently serving approximately 515 meals each day; over 183,000 meals in 2010!    Additionally, we operate a nine month recovery program that includes a mentoring program, life-skill training as well as a job internship programs.  We rely heavily on volunteers from our local communities to support our work within a hurting sector of our society.  We are funded entirely by donations from local churches, businesses and individuals.   The Visalia Rescue Mission owns and operates Rescued Treasures Thrift Store on Mooney Blvd. and Simply Chic Boutique on Main Street, in Visalia, CA.  All proceeds from these outstanding stores directly benefit the ministry of the Mission. The Mission also has a Feed the Hungry Farm, Gym, Food & Clothing Distribution Center and are in the midst of building a Community Center to better service the needs of the community.
