Fur Frenzy Pet Spa

Only gave one star because zero isn’t an option. Dropped off a cat for an appointment at 2:00 to get a flea bath and groomed, and at 7:00 that evening decided to go physically to the store to see why she wasn’t done yet. The owner informed that the cat hadn’t even been started, and made excuses as to why she hadn’t bathed the cat five hours after the set appointment time. Not only did the owner not bathe the cat, she also left the cat sitting in her small carrier for the entire day, obviously not even giving the cat access to litter. The store is entirely unprofessional every time I have been inside, and the staff being unable to complete their jobs at the agreed upon time ensures that I will not return, and will advise anyone I know to steer clear.

I recently had my Tea Cup Yorkie (Scrappy) groomed at Fur Frenzy in Virginia beach, VA by groomer David. I came into town to get my hair done so I wanted to pamper my little man as well. I looked at the reviews to make sure he would be in good hands.

Before handing over Scrappy I told the receptionist to cut him low but do not shave and keep his Yorkie face. I said it three times to her to the point she called the groomer David to the lobby to speak with me. I told him to cut him short but do not shave and keep his Yorkie face. He looked me in my eyes and repeated what I said. Then he wrote it on the paper cut short.

When I returned to pick Scrappy up the moment I saw him my stomach sank. I didn't even recognize him at all. David did exactly the opposite of what I told him. He took it upon himself to shave ALL of his hair off... He butchered him to an unrecognizable state... He was shaved raw ALL over. His face has random hair lengths throughout.. I was outraged, to say the least. He now looks like a Chihuahua. I left the shop because I was seeing red and needed to remove myself from a situation that was only going to get worse.

I immediately called and spoke with the manager who was very sweet and understanding of my outrage. She said she spoke with David and he told her, he thought that's what I wanted. The manager said the receptionist even said I told him to keep the Yorkie face. But isn't that grooming 101?

The only positive that came from this visit was getting a full refund. I'm not saying never go to Fur Frenzy because they do have other groomers, but what I am saying is think twice before allowing David to do anything but a bath for your furry baby.

horrible customer service from Manager there! Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone especially military families! They gave my dogs an allergic reaction. You sign that they'll pay for the vet if anything goes wrong, its A LIE! they'll only pay you back for their grooming! Horrible customer service from the owner and Manager! Will never take my dog there again and when will make sure word goes around in the military community to not take their pets there! Not worth what your dog will suffer after.

My labradoodle is terrified of being in a cage and/or kennel so when we took him to get groomed it especially upset him. We were so excited when we heard about Kira and Fur Frenzy!! They are only in a cage to dry and then they are allowed to play with the other animals. My dog actually gets excited when we pull in now and is exhausted from play when we bring him home. Kira is also the best groomer we have ever used and the most reasonable!!!

I took my female Papillon to Fur Frenzy after being unhappy with the staff of the 'box pet store' groomers. What a wonderful change!



The staff at Fur Frenzy are happy, friendly, and seem to truly enjoy their job. I like that the dogs are not crated and can play with each other. Penelope came out looking (and smelling) gorgeous!



The extended hours of operation are great, and the prices are excellent! If you are searching for a great groomer, look no further!

When my husband and I were given the opportunity to be the proud owners of a Golden Retriever puppy, my first thought was, 'how much is the grooming going to cost us?' We had plans when she turned 1 to get her her very first grooming. She still didn't have all of her "adult" hair in yet, but there were areas on her that were going wild. When I saw the name "Pet Spa" I thought this will be a pretty penny. But they are actually the cheapest I found around town. Bristol's first appointment, I was so nervous because I wasn't sure what I was even doing or what to really ask for. They pointed out what would be reasonable and since Oct 09, Bristol's been back 2 times. The staff is great, so friendly and knowledgable on all breeds and I could tell they really love dogs! Bristol loves walking in there and being able to interact with the other dogs that are waiting to be groomed or just waiting to be picked up. I highly recommend Fur Frenzy for people who really love their pets and want the piece of mind that their pets are in good hands!

Ever since they have opened, I have taken my two boys Buster and Cody there and have always been very satisfied. The grooming is exceptional, the hours of operation are great and the staff is the best. Kira does an outstanding job as owner and petstylist! I would not go anywhere else!

Fur Frenzy does an excellent job grooming our dog. Ivy does not get stressed out like she does at other groomers. Ivy loves to go see Kira and the gang at Fur Frenzy and they take excellent care of Ivy while she is in their care. We recommend Fur Frenzy to all of our friends and neighbors!

The owner is an outstanding groomer, having taken care of all my dogs for the last two years.

She's courteous and my dogs are always happy to see her and happy when they're picked up. The prices are better than some of the other local shops I've been to and the service is always top notch. Never had their nails quicked by them, nor any other problems. I feel safe leaving my pups there, and highly recommend them!
