Ophthalmology
In 1992, he finished his residency in Ophthalmology at the renowned Storm Eye Institute at the Medical University of South Carolina. That year, he entered private practice, and in 2000, opened Atlantic Eye Consultants, P.C. Dr. Delianides is the medical director and chief surgeon of the practice.
Macular Degeneration
Macular degeneration affects cells in the macula, which is the part of the retina responsible for central vision. Central vision is essential for most basic tasks like reading, driving, recognizing people, etc. Although macular degeneration leaves peripheral vision un-impaired, loss of central vision is debilitating.
Laser Eye Surgery
LASIK (laser assisted in-situ keratomileusis) is the most commonly performed and well-known vision correction surgery. If you are having cataract surgery using a laser, this will be your first step. We will use a device with both photo and ultrasound imaging to map the exact shape and surface of your eye. This information is sent to the computer to calculate the placement and depth of the incisions, allowing for more detailed preparation and planning.
