Went in to have my beard trimmed and shaped, came out with the worst cut i ever had. Not a place for beards.

As a guy who cuts his hair every week, I have been trying to find a "local" guy for over a year. You see, I'm back and forth between my new house in Vero Beach and my office in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I've been going to one particular barber for almost eight years now, but needed someone local to keep my hair cut low. I'm also strongly in favor of supporting local business. If you live in the neighborhood, you should support the neighborhood. As I typically say, "just a little off the top please." My weekly cut is a zero on the side, and a one on the top. Trim the mustache and eyebrows and I'm good to go. Sounds easy, but even a bald head can be screwed up if not done right.Frank Sosta of Royal Cut Barber Shop in Vero Beach meets that expectation. Located in a small strip type shopping center south of town center, Frank mentioned that he had been in the same location since 1988. Long time in business in the very same location. Plenty of parking too!Great service - reasonable price and even a free cup of coffee with take home mug provided. Clean shop and no wait. With over 40 years experience cutting hair, Frank got it right the first time with little to no direction from me. On top of that, he didn't mess with the "beard" that I had growing. Three days worth of stubble and there wasn't even that tell tale line between the hair and beard. Blended the haircut right in.Need a lottery ticket? Frank has a Florida Lottery machine and a vast assortment of scratch off tickets. I felt compelled to purchase one, but usually stay away from these things unless a big Powerball jackpot is looming.Old habits are hard to break, but I will return to Royal Cut in the future, as needed. I ALWAYS have trouble with someone cutting my hair right . I have straight blonde hair that every body messes up. I went and had Mike as my barber ... After he cut it i had so many compliments. Been going there for a year now and are extremely happy. PS the guy with the pony tail is not there anymore..

I second Eduardo's comments. I stumbled upon In the Cut needing a hair cut while visiting my parents. I met both the owners on what seemed like a slower day. Even as a midtwenty relatively hip dude, it was a bit intimidating heading into the dimly lit barbershop with Hispanic owners. That initial feeling was completely unwarranted. They are the nicest guys and give an amazing hair cut. I make it a tradition to visit them everytime I go down there now and they remember me with out hesitation. They care about their customers and they do really legitimate business. Kudos to them.

Well not sure what that other guy is talking about. I've known the owners of the barber shop for years and they are very hard working young individuals who happen to make haircuts affordable. It's a great and friendly environment. I see many from seniors to kids getting cuts there. Very curious and respectful barbers. Usually they have a line waiting so be sure to head early.

Young kids come here to buy drugs and the hair cut is cheap but you get what you pay for or not

The worst haircut I have ever had was by the man with a pony tail in the first chair. I asked for a light trim and got a scalping, but on one side - the left was shorter than I wanted, but normal while the left the sideburn was cut even with the top of my ear. It is over 2 weeks and I still do not have enough to get another haircut to fix it. Additionally the man in the next chair was scalped by a woman who I did not even realize was his barber since she was talking on the phone with the Walmart pharmacy. He left with a bang while just left knowing I would never return even though there are other barbers

While down in Vero Beach, I had the pleasure of getting my haircut by Tom the Barber. The shop is immaculate and Tom is the ultimate professional. One of the best haircuts that I have ever had at a great price - Joe DiBlasio
